The Date - any reasons why you picked that certain day?

agreed - i like our wedding date to be special on it's own. i would have picked a date like our first date or the day we met or something, we just don't know those. i am SO not an "anniversary" person when you're dating - lol. i wouldn't want our wedding date to be shared with a birthday or any other holiday - since something always would have to be compromised - either the birthday or the wedding anniversary!

We picked 8/3/07 because we were wanting to get married right before school started again (for my nephews)....and after everyone's normal summer events.

We picked a Friday because we went to a wedding in PDC in July, on a Saturday, and everyone had to leave to come home the next morning, and we wanted everyone to have a chance in enjoy/relax the day before they had to go home.

This thread made me chuckle.

We got a lot of credit from our guests for having picked Veteran's Day (it made things very easy for everyone who had kids, etc.).

Truth is - we had no idea. We were shooting for September - then October - nothing available? Ok - anything in November? Great.

Worked out well - though - weather was great, too. Plus - 11/11/11 will be our 5 year anniversary. Makes it easy to remember (sometimes I forget how old I am so I have to actually do the math - sad, I know).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
