I'm so sorry for your loss April, but he's not suffering and I'm sure he'll be looking down on you on your special day.

Get a nice bottle of wine and crawl into a nice bubble bath and let out a good cry. Thats what I love to do when I'm super stressed! In the end, you can't make everyone happy except yourself and your FI. Do what makes the 2 of you happy, take lots of pictures, live it up and show them all off when you get home!!

April I am so late to this but I wanted to start off by saying that I am so sorry for your loss. Your family will be in my prayers.

Secondly, I am so glad that your FI had a talk with Satan...ehem excuse me I meant to say your FMIL. Hopefully she will come around like they all do. And if not that is too bad for her, it will be her loss.

I hope that you get through these hard times and know that we will all be thinking about you.

I am so sorry for you and your future husband and all of your family. I too had my father pass away (liver cancer) so I can unfortunately relate to all of your emotions.
If there is any advice that I can give you, it is to gather strength from all of the support and love that is around you. Utilize these people and know how blessed you are to have someone that loves you as much as Patrick. Find solace in the fact that you had your father's blessing for your upcoming marriage and that he is at peace.
Never for a moment feel as if he is NOT with you - because he is. You can always keep him alive in your heart and your memories - and that should always put a smile on your face.
It may take you a while to accept all that is happening, and of course, life always challenges you in many ways. But keep your head high and spirits up and you will get through this.

I couldn't say anything better than Courtney just did. I am sending you my thoughts and prayers on the loss of your dad. May your good memories bring you comfort during this difficult time.

April, you and your family are in my thoughts. I am so sorry to hear about your father. Your memorial ideas sounds beautiful. I am so glad that you and the FI are getting married in the way that makes you the happiest. In the end, you and your husband-to-be will remember and cherish your wedding day more than anyone. For those who are truly upset because they can't afford to go or find the time, there are so many other moments and events in life to be shared! You guys sound like such nice people and have been more than accomodating to everyone. It seems some people forget that the wedding is a special day for the couple, and their inconveniences, such as rescheduling a few meetings and flights, are minor compared to the importance of the momentous day. Hopefully, we can help to make this an exciting and fun process for you because we all are excited about *your* special day! Hang in there :)
