News Flash! We are changing locations to Riviera Maya/PDC

Recommended Posts

Margaret: I'm SO glad you finally decided on a location! I think we decided on Grand Palladium but Dreams Tulum keeps coming back to me ALSO!

Mikki: My sisters mother-in-law is a travel agent and she HIGHLY recommends the Iberostar chain in RM....plus my sister-in-law just got back from there and said it was AWESOME!!!! The only reason I don't want to do it there is because quite a few people we know have gone there and we want to do something a little different :)

Yay, I'm so glad that you decided too Jen, though I am sad that we won't be at the same place, the same week! :)

I looked into Iberostar too, and it seemed like a good option, can't remember why I decided against it! I forgot - looked into so many hotels, they are all wonderful really.

The Colonial is soooo nice you are going to love it. We stayed at the Barcelo last year and really had a great time. That side of the resort is really pretty. Its big enough that your guests aren't in your lap all the time but you can still see them whenever you want! Hope you have a great time too!

Congratulations Amy!

I really liked Playacar Palace in PDC. I like the simple, neutral decor.

It is close to the shopping and resaturants there as well.

The reason we decided not to have it at Playacar Palace was the all-inclusive would not suit many of our guests. I don't think they have a European option - someome please correct me if I am wrong! (That would change my mind in a second!) It also depends how many guests you think you will have as they accomodate up to 30 I think. I have more info on this hotel, if you would like me to forward it just let me know.

I have some friends that went to a wedding at Bahia Principe Tulum that Jason mentioned in an ealier post and said it was the best wedding they had ever been to before.

Good luck!

One of my close friends got married at the Iberostar Tucan/Quetzal. The wedding was lovely and the dinner was great, but I personally prefer a smaller, more intimate resort. Also, for some reason the bees at the Iberostar during the summer are insane! I just went there again last year and three of the five people in our group were stung just because they were getting drinks from the bar.

Maybe they've got the bee problem under control, though.

I've been to Grand Oasis Riviera Maya, Dreams Tulum, the Iberostars, Azul, and Catalonia Playa Maroma, and my favorite resorts so far have been Dreams, Azul, and GORM. They're all reasonable (except Azul is a little pricey) and have great beaches.

Hope this helps.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
