I am so freakin' sick of chicken

How about you? Seems like chicken is the diet staple. I am actually thinking about banning meat all together because I can't eat the stuff I want to (i.e. cheese burgers.)

On a positive note: I am learning to cook fish on the grill... better than chicken. So if you have any good recipies let me know!

I'm not a huge chicken fan, so it does get pretty old pretty fast.

I find (when I actually stick to a diet) it helps to plan meals so you don't get stuck eating chicken everyday.

Example:

*Monday - Chicken Fajitas

*Tuesday - Pork Tenderloin

*Wednesday - Grilled Salmon

*Thursday - Chicken Stir Fry

*Friday - Turkey Meatloaf

*Saturday - Spaghetti Squash

*Sunday - Ham & Cheese Omelets

If you really want a burger, get bison meat. It is naturally super lean 97-99% and it cooks just like beef.

There are other white meats like turkey breast that now comes raw in smaller packages, and pork. This way they don't have all the sodium from processing.

You can really eat about anything, it's all in the way it is cooked and portion size. You can eat red meat, but use it in pasta sauce or for breakfast.

Ground turkey is awesome as a beef replacement! I made turkey tacos last night (ok, not low-cal, but better than beef), and they were so good! We also eat a lot of fish... shrimp, scallops, tuna, salmon, etc. There are a lot of great options that can add variety. And pork loin is super low-fat!

I've been doing a body detox for a week and a half so I would love some backed chicken right now. I don't eat beef or pork but you could try some turkey and other types of fish you've never tried before. You could experiment a lot.

Be careful with the amount of shellfish you eat. It is really high in cholestorol and sodium. (it is soaked in salt water...)

For example, one king crab leg has 25% of your daily intake of cholestorol and 60% of your recommend allowance of sodium.

I agree with what everyone else said. I've fallen in love with Polenta too. It's corn meal which you can find pre-made and packaged. Jay and I fry it in the frying pan using fat free cooking spray. We usually have it with low fat pasta sauce, parm cheese, and turkey sausage. I love it with salsa, non fat shredded cheddar, and non fat sour cream. Oh and you can make low fat pizza with low fat pitas non fat mozzerella and low fat sauce. Yeah there definately is a lot you can eat that is healthy besides just chicken.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
