I always carry one of these with me (in baby blue) - it folds up so small - i love it! They are only $5 at The Container Store but everywhere I look now they sell stuff like this....

The Container Store > Shop Travel > Totes & Briefcases > Small Nylon Shopping Bag

Wow, that's alot of info. I was just telling Matt at dinner the other night that I would like to make an effort to start living a little more "green". The thread started by Amy a few weeks ago, made me realize how little I really do and how just doing a little something would have an effect. Thanks for posting Alyssa.

I use reusable bags at whole foods & trader joes because they make it so easy. I feel like my target isn't as equiped for reusable bags, but I'm going to start using them anyway. I'll help them bag things up if I can.

I wanted to give out OOT bags that could be used as shopping bags after the wedding, but the ones i got are too small. I like the kind with a flat bottom.

Oooh, That's a cool bag Alyssa!

I have bags galore. The other day I bought a few green bags that were on clearance at Target for about $5 (not the red bags that fold up that they have, they were a natural color with various designs.)

My MIL got me a great one from Australia that is super cute.

WA state just passed a law (?) that all stores have to start charging $0.20 per paper or plastic bag used by a customer that is NOT a :reusable" type bag. supposedly the $ from the fee goes to a "green fund" that actually goes towards solid waste management.

so everywhere you look the last week since the news broke, reuseable bags everywhere! on sale, super expensive, plain, fancy, they are everywhere!

i think they are a great idea, but now what am i going to throw out the cat litter in?? wink.gif

I have been using reusable bags for groceries for about a year and a half since they began selling them in almost every food store we shop. I even got an insulated reusable bag for my perishables and frozen food. It made such a difference not getting our groceries packed in plastic that we actually don't have a plastic bag in the house. I still feel bad using the plastic garbage bags though...any alternatives out there? Plus doggie poop pick-up from the backyard isn't exactly paper bag friendly....any advice?

Great info, thanks. We try to use reusable bags when we go grocery shopping, and are finally starting to get into the habit. It's hard to remember to take bags to the store with you when you go in the beginning, but maybe all of the extra reasons will make it a little easier for me to remember. Again, thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
