flower and canopy question

Recommended Posts

OK so I finally heard back from our wedding coordinator she quoted me $133.00 for:

7 green cymbidium orchids @$12 each = $84

3 Ivory roses @ $4 each + $12

Fee for making bouquet = $25

Single white cymbidium orchid for hair = $12

Total = $133

I also asked her about their pricing for a canopy rental and she said

"They usually start at around $300 plus delivery"

For those of you who have already priced out canopies and flowers does these prices seem high or about right?

Where did you order your canopy from? Was their a delivery fee or was it included? WIP marks things up so freakin high that I use them at a pricing point and "hope" to find it myself for cheaper, if all else fails I book through them.

Maye is sourcing it for me. The $300 includes delivery and set up. Sorry - I don't know where she is getting it.

Are you sourcing flowers yourself? If so, ask the florist if they can supply a canopy for $300 including set up. Don't ask them how much it would cost for a canopy - just give them the price and then ask them to supply a picture of what it would look like.

Hay Tammy, I am getting a canopy w/fabric only (read: no flowers) for $250 from Maye. It's a bamboo chuppah type thing - just pretty & flowy, light & airy. Just what I wanted!

I got a horrendous quote for the same thing from Fun & Motivation some time ago, it was like $800 plus delivery, plus set up, plus tax & service. Total came to over $1K. Fricking rediculous, huh? Anyway, I think $300 should be about right.

Actually the pricing seems very competitive. For the flowers, especially the orchids that sounds about right. Are you using them for the bouquet, corsage, boutonniere. Make sure the appropriate people know since they have to be wired if used in an arrangment. The canopy pricing is about the best that I've seen! Keep us posted...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
