My Mom told me that it is bad luck for the mothers to throw showers...don't know if that is really true, but you could use that.

I agree about inviting people who aren't coming to the wedding...I would feel really awkward about that too.

So sorry they are stressing you out...good luck!

Oh my, that is not a great situation. I think something has to be said and it sounds like it needs to be said to FMIL. Does your FMIL have a tendancy to take over and maybe your FSIL isn't able to stand up to her? I think maybe you should have a nice chat with FMIL like what lhsing said, and then maybe get your Mom to give her a call after that to say she hear that she was planning the shower and she would like to help since you are her daughter. Maybe she will be willing to share the duties of planning.

Yeah, my MOH is doing the shower... but you need to speak up, do it politely, but it is your day. Not fair to have everything taken over. And I also agree, why would you invite people who weren't invited to the wedding?! It seem so odd! Be calm and cool, but state what it is that you want.

Ok, this kind of happened to me already. I kept telling Fi he needed to talk to his mom and sister. That didn't work. They invited their friends and family but didn't invite any of mine. Not even BM's. WTF! So my mom and BM's are having their own. I just rolled with it. trying not to stir up too much water so close to the wedding. If I had gone into bridezilla mode. trust me I wonuldn't have stopped. And killed them all.

So I really feel your pain. Sorry. This sucks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
