Anyone else feel like they might explode???

My wedding isn't until 12/07 and I have all the big stuff done - location, photog, DJ, dress, etc. Sounds great, right?

Well, now I am DYING to start buying all the other small stuff and iron out the details. I want to buy a rehersal dinner dress and other wedding clothes - but lord knows what will be in fashion in December. I want to start buying OOT bag stuff - but I have NO idea how many people are coming. I want to start making DIY stuff for the reception and ceremony - but I haven't done my site visit so I don't know where I will have the events.

My head might explode soon by the time I am in a place to start ironing out all these details.smile41.gif

Anyone else having these issues?

When is your site visit? Have you been to Dreams yet to see it? The site visit will definitely help but I still think you can do some things now...

I think if you have a rough idea of numbers, you can at least figure out what you want to do and start shopping around for deals for OOT bags and other items. You could also work on some projects like invitations, luminarias, decorations... I think it's smart to get things done early so that when you are in Cabo for the wedding, you can truly enjoy and not have to work on projects!!

And if you still think it's too early for you, I'm sure there are some girls that need some help with projects (including me!!)...

kate I started buying stuff way before.. I have like 450 people invited.. I have a excel list and I put a sign on the peple who I THINK they might go.. that helped me making an stimate.. I'm buying stuff for 100 ('cause favors and that stuff is only for women)

That's working for me 'cause prices have gone up on almost everything.. for example the OOT bags I want to buy were $1.75 and now they're $2.25 and since I asked for them before I managed to get the lower price..

I think you should start buying stuff, and if you need more you can buy it after that or if you need less you can sell it here or on ebay...

Ok I experienced this as well. However a word to the wise, hold off a bit before you start buying OOT bag stuff.. You don't know how many people will go so you may end up buying to little or not enough. Also, I've probably changed my mind about a million times on everything, some things I've come full circle on and will be doing what I orginally planned others the idea just wasn't great. So I ended up wasting some money.

Just really think about things before you start buying, that's my only advise..

Kate, it's easy to get carried away and feel like you have to do everything NOW! I have been dealing with this lately and I"m getting married in October. I have already gotten the save the dates out...my invites are going out in 2 weeks, and I have bought a few things for the OOT bags! You wont have a final count until it gets closer, but it never hurts to start buying a few things here and there. You never know, some of the other brides on here might be able to use them if you change your mind! Just remember to pick a color theme, and work from that. You can really start narrowing everything down once you do this...

Good luck and happy planning!

Leigh

Kate, I totally have done all that stuff early, and now I am happy I did because my entire month of April is going to be crazy. I would buy things too early, but if you find a great deal on something go for it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
