The fives is fairly close to Playa del carmen but i would say it would be more hiking than walking distance. I too was initially under the impression that it was walkable to town but after my site visit I would say you would be better off taking a taxi and I certainly would not walk it at night.

Perhaps along the beach the walk would be shorter?

From the spec room i saw - it is an amazing property! very chic but yet comfortable!

Oh really...that was one of our main reasons for booking the hotel! Oh well never mind.

 

All the pictures of the rooms show the 1 bedroom suites however we have just booked a delux room. What are these rooms like? Also what do all the restaurants look like?

 

Also I am flying over from scotland, will i just book my flowers, evening reception etc when I get there or do I need to do it all before I go?

 

I was kind of hoping I would just to do it once I arrived there....thats one of the reasons why I am doing it abroad so someone else can arrange all of these details for me and I just pick what I want when I get there!!!

Yes, I am leaning toward Fives. I like that it's close to Playa del Carmen. I do wonder about their indoor restaurants in the event that it rains and a reception has to be moved indoors. Also, what would be the indoor option for the wedding ceremony? I think we may go to another resort a couple days after the wedding for our honeymoon. Possibly Secrets? By transfers, I meant the drive from the Cancun airport to the hotel. Thanks for your reply.

Oh sorry I misunderstood what you meant. Our holiday package includes transfers from the airport to the hotel so dont need to pay any extra. We are also going to another hotel after the wedding. We are 2 weeks in the fives and 1 week in the royal cancun...secrets looks lovely

You should be able to pick most things when you get there- just be pretty flexible as things like the flowers may be limited to what their florist has available! If you have something specific in mind for the flowers i would do it prior- probably at least 30-45 days. Also if you want a color other than white for chair covers or bows- I'd recommend doing it prior- if you are happy with white you should be fine doing it when you are there! The wedding and reception location can easily be picked once there !

The deluxe rooms are nice, they look like your standard hotel rooms!

So I have officially decided on Azul Fives and am awaiting my confirmation for November 16, 2009. I am so relieved to have decided! I am happy with my choice. I am looking forward to hearing about the opening and seeing more pics and gathering more details. Please post any new info when you get it

Hey ladies! I may be joining this forum, as my wedding date at both Azul Beach and Sensatori is not available! I was just wondering if any of you have done site visits or have any actual pictures of the resort? Know when its supposed to open? I have contacted my WC to ask all of this but thought if you guys knew now that would be great. I know on Karisma's website they digital pictures, but I am hoping to find "actual" photos of it? If anyone has anymore information on this resort that would be great...

Hey Peace oh its exciting you have booked up :) I cant wait till the hotel actually opens so we can start reading the reviews!!!

 

Tracy S - The hotel is meant to open on 1st Dec however I was then told that it would open for the public on 21st Dec. I have asked Fabio for some photographs of possible ceremony and reception sites but he said he would not be able to provide these until mid Dec - early Jan. I have previously asked on here before if anyone has done a site visit but no one responded

Hi Tracy, I do not have any actual pics but I am sure that we will have access to them when the resort opens in late December/early January. I have not done a site visit. I will make sure to post info as it becomes available to me.
