Anyone know if construction on Azul Fives is still good for Dec1 grand opening?

I wish we had pictures of the place. I'm getting married in Jan trying to find out what time the sun sets and what the beach looks like for a beach reception dinner. We are having about 60 guest!!

Hi All -

My fiance and I are getting married on February 21st at the Azul Fives and I am soooo excited :) I know they have a very strict policy on photographers so if anyone has one they can suggest that is approved, please let me know!

Construction is set to finish on December 1st according to my TA and her wholesaler - and I am very very happy to hear that!

There are also some new pictures and information online and I was just recently given the restaurant outlines and wedding options. I can post if anyone wants them!

Hey eebruce.

I am getting married on 30th June 2009 and I am soooo excited.

Regarding the opening date, I read on trip advisor that this date has been pushed by to 21st Dec - not sure if this is official though. I will try and find the link to post it.

Where can I get access to the new pictures and information? is it on the karisma website? Please can you also post the outlines and wedding options?

I have emailed Fabio asking what options we have for the wedding reception as I want to have one on the beach but he says he cannot give me specific details until mid dec - start jan for some reason - if you can post your info that would be much appreciated :) :)

I am glad there are other brides on here getting married at the azul fives...was begining to feel I was the only one as most people seem to be going to the sensatori.

I am leaning towards Azul Fives. I am also considering Sensatori. I wish they were better with correspondance. Yes, I (and others) have a billion questions but doesn't every bride to be? Does anyone know if there are reduced rates for kids? Have the ladies who are confirmed booked a photographer? I would like to bring a friend who is a photographer to take pics but am still waiting on the ok for that. Are the confirmed ladies planning on a private reception or dinner reservations? What made you choose Fives? Sorry for the many questions.

Fabio is very busy right now, I got an auto reply that said:

Thanks for your email.

Due to the upcoming opening of our two new properties; Azul Sensatori Hotel & Azul Fives Hotel we are experiencing a higher email volume than usual. However, we do appreciate your correspondence and will be responding to you as soon as possible. Please also be advised that we are also assisting a couple of last minute wedding groups that were scheduled at two Hotels that unfortunately closed without notice, we appreciate your understanding while we assist these unlucky wedding couples.

We greatly appreciate your patience, and look forward to working with you!! Thanks!

I found out from a TA and trip advisor that Dreams Tulum and Eurostar Blue were closed by the Mexican gov. and many of the resorts (Karisma too) are trying to accommodate the misplaced weddings.

Hi Peace, I have not booked a photographer but I will just go with one the the hotel offers. Karisma are quite strict with outside photographers....I you either need to pay $500.00 or book a 3 night stay for your photographer at the hotel.

This is the photographers that you can book through the hotel and done need to pay the outside vender fee. Claudia looks amazing but I think she is quite exp. I think we are going to go with caribe photo. The lomas website shows you some of the flowers etc that you can order.

I think there are reduced rates for kids, I am from Scotland and there are reduced rates for kids up to 13yrs old...could be different in the states though. I am planning on doing a private dinner party, I would like to have a bbq on the beach...I cant wait so excited!!

I was really close to picking the azul beach but thought that it was a little small and seemingly it is quite secluded. I think the azul sensatori is the same. I picked the fives because the hotel just looks amazing, its looks very cool and chic and I felt the location was better than the sensatori. Azul fives is within walking distance Playa del carmen so you have the option to go for a walk during the day and go out a night if you wanted.

The location was my main reason for picking the fives over the sensatori, however the sensatori does look amazing!!

Thank you! How did you handle the transfers for your guests? Did you pay for them and what was the cost (if you don't mind me asking). Did you choose your cake and bouquet from the options listed on the site you referred me to or are there more options? Thank you so much!elefant.gif

Hi there. We are not paying for our guests to come to the wedding. We have basically said to people where and when we are going and if they want to join us then great. Otherwise we are having a big party back in scotland for everyone who couldnt make it. we couldnt afford to pay for lots of people to come to mexico....if we could we would!! It is roughly working about £1500-£1700 per person for 2 weeks all inclusive and about £1200 for one week all inclusive...thats flying from Scotland. £1500 is equalivent to about $2300. I dont have a clue how much you guys would be in the states.

I havent picked any flowers etc yet I am just guesing that I pick all that when I am over there. I would like to have a bbq and a dancefloor on the beach for the evening reception. I emailed fabio asking if he needs details of this prior to our arrival or if we can just arrange it all when we get there but he hasnt replied yet sad.gif

So are you steering more towards the fives or the sensatori?

I have asked Fabio to provide me with ceremony and reception options but he says they wont be available until mid dec-january

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
