My Dress Dilema~ Advice Please

Recommended Posts

*UPDATE* I bought the second dress today! It should be in October 24th! Yay!

So, I bought my dress back in April from David's Bridal. I love it! But it definitely wasn't the style of dress I was picturing for my DW. All of the dresses I tried on that were more beachy/flowy just didn't look right on me. This dress felt perfect even tho it didn't fit what I had in mind for the day. Fast forward to today. We were BM dress shopping (which we bought) and I wanted to try on this Wtoo dress (just for fun) that I had been eyeing on the computer while searching for BM styles. Well, I love it! And its the style I was picturing. What nowhuh.gif Oh, and FMIL offered to buy the 2nd dress for me. I would have to sell the first dress if I switch because it needs alterations and I'm not going to pay for them and then wear it for 2 hours and change into the 2nd dress.

Sorry the pics are terrible. Neither site would let me save to my computer.

Here's the dress I have now in White~ David's Bridal - Bridal Gowns CT203 Strapless beaded metallic embroidered gown.

So, do I get the 2nd dress? I'm thinking about bringing my original dress to the salon and trying on BOTH to see what I like better.

I agree that the second dress is more "DW" but... the first is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!

hmmm what to do....

If you love the one you have, stick with it and change the attire and feel of the wedding to a more formal event - many DW brides have formal DW's. Just because your DW is on the beach does not mean that all formality goes out the window.

If you wear the first one FI MUST wear a full suit to complement the dress...

If you love it - keep it. bottom line!

good luck!

I love that dress! It's already on my list to try on when I go dress shopping. :)

Regarding having 2 dresses - I think it depends on how formal you want your DW. Both are beautiful dresses and you definitely can't go wrong with either one! I definitely think bringing both dresses to the salon is a good idea. And I don't think you'd have any trouble selling the first dress if you decide to get the WTOO dress - it would be beautiful for a DW or a non-DW.

BTW, I got a quote of under $380 for the WTOO dress on netbride.com! Just in case money makes a difference...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
