Nutritional Cleanse - added bonus - lose weight!?

just for an update. I'm an isagenix failure... welll not exactly. I just couldn't exactly stick to the program exactly. The berry drink you drink on the cleanse day really made me want to gag. I'm modifying the plan a little- only drinking that twice a day vs. 4x/day and I added in some fruit and vegetable consumption. I just couldnt do all day without. I also found that I couldn't do the program exactly 2 cleanse days, 5 shake days, 2 cleanse days. I've needed to spread the cleanse days out - couldnt bear back to back. Anyway, even with the modifications its working pretty well. I lost 4 1/2 lbs. I probably don't need to lose too much more but would like to lose maybe 3-4 more just to be sure. Anyway the point is- flexibility within reason and its stilll gives you results!

NrsGrl- how are you doing? with the weight loss but more importantly the PCOS?

I'd love to do this to shed a few pounds before the wedding, but I have Crohn's disease & I'm afraid that anything to do with my bowels should not be tried!! lol

Nrsgrl, I am so happy that you are having great results!! I'm sure as a nurse you know the risks of detoxifying too much - and with your recent diagnosis I hope you are getting the ok from your doc to proceed with more cleansing. I just want you to be healthy!!! I know how addicting it can be that you are losing weight, but you can't make your body pay the price!

Anyway, that's my 2 cents!!! Take care & good luck!

Hi Amy and BachataBride!

Amy, congrats on the weight you lost! I know you only wanted to lose 5-8 lbs, so well done! As for the "cleanse for life" drink.. I ordered the berry with my 9 day program and was able to handle it ok.. I didn't love it by any means, but I could stomach it. With my 30 day program I ordered the tropical paradise flavour and it is WAY better than the berry. I didn't have any problems with 2 cleanse days back to back.. probably because of my crappy eating habits to begin with, since I would normally go forever without eating anyway. So it wasn't hard for me. With the 30 day program you do 1 cleanse day a week... but I've ordered an extra bottle of cleanse for life just in case I want to do 2 cleanse days in a row.

The weight is coming off, but I gained 1.5 last week as I was on a little vacation. But I'm not stressed about it.

PCOS sucks!! But I'm taking my medication and trying to lose the weight. That will help alot with the symptoms since there is no cure. I'm not sure how my fertility situation is right now... since it can cause infertility and in come cases can lead to ovarian cancer. But I'm trying not to let it get me down.

Posting here and my videos on YOUTUBE are actually very therapeutic. It is amazing how wonderful people are, you know? I get so many messages from people wishing me luck. It is very heart warming.

Anyway, I'm so long winded.... sorry about that. LOL

Keep up the good work AMY!! You're doing great!!

BachataBride... since you have Crohn's you have to be really careful about anything that could have any kind of laxative effect. Personally, my bowels have never been better, since I was constipated and bloated all the time. But everyone reacts differently.

AMY - how were your bowels on your cleanse days?

Oh, believe me, I know! I don't even take so much as an imodium! Maybe a shot of pepto every now & then!! But I am really lucky...I have not been really sick since I recovered from when I was first diagnosed (about 4 or 5 yrs ago). I've had a few flare ups of course, but nothing too bad. I actually haven't even been medicated since April!! And everything seems to be fine! YAY!!

I hope everything works out for you!! Keep healthy!

Hi Julia and BachataBride,

Congrats on not needing any meds, that's awesome. Alot of the patients I take care of have numerous bowel problems who require surgery. So well done! As for the cleanse, even though I love it, I wouldn't recommend for anyone with diagnosed issues such as yours, unless you've consulted a doctor first. Chances are, they would advise against it.

  • 10 months later...

I just started the Isagenix 30 day program (I'm on day 4). I am a healthy eater and pretty fit to begin with (5'2" and 124lbs) as I run long distances and play many sports as well as train in a gym. I just couldn't lose that extra 5 lbs around my thighs for the beach! I too was skeptical of the program and thought it would only work for people who didn't eat properly anyway but thought I'd give it a try (along with my finace). I must say after only 3 days I have lost 4lbs and I feel fantastic. I have a tonne of energy too! My fiance and I are both seeing results already. He is down almost 10lbs...It is unbelievable.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
