when i was little my dad would tell me that when i sneezed if something came out my nose it was brain lubricant and if i sneezed enough my brain would dry up! so everytime i had to sneeze i would get so scared and try to hold it in!

another funny story was when i was about 10 i was sitting at the dinner table with my family and i said "ok so i should tell you now i dont believe in santa anymore" and so then my dad was like ok good now we dont have to pretend the easter bunny and tooth fairy exist anymore and i broke down in tears because i still believed in them!!! my dad felt terrible that he had ruined it all for me! lol

Michelle that is too funny!

This isn't about me, but my mom's BFF was a single mom and they didn't have much money.

SHe used to tell her daughter that hot dogs were steaks and deviled eggs were salmon croquettes.

All of the kids at school thought she had all of these fancy meals. It was a shock when she actually had a steak and salmon croquettes!

that reminds me of my dad making maple breakfast sausages almost every sunday morning and i asked him how they taste like maple and we had a huge tree right out our kitchen window that squirrels were always playing in so i guess he thought fast and told me that the sausages were made from squirrels and they tasted like maple because they ran up and down maple trees so much! LOL and i didnt believe him so he cut the sausages and made them look like a squirrel on his plate lol...i believed him for a long time til my mom found out he told me that! lol

Thanks so much Michelle for bumping this!! I'm trying so hard not to laugh out loud in the middle of my office - then people will find out I'm not really working!!

I have a couple pretty funny & unique one...bare with me...I'm not a very good story teller!! lol

My step-father (RIP) was always playing tricks on me. One year for my birthday...I had to be 7 or 8...he had a huge present for me. I opened it and in the box was 2 or 3 logs of wood. I was crushed!!! Underneath of course there were lots of presents...but that initial sight of wood for my birthday was traumatizing!

My mom & step-dad always told me not to leave my cabbage patch dolls outside because if it rained they would turn into cabbages! One day I was looking all over for my "baby" and couldn't find it. I come down stairs to the kitchen and see a huge cabbage on the counter with my dolls bonnet on top! I cried & cried & cried!!! My mom took the doll to her "shop" (she was an at home hairdresser) to blow dry it for me to see if that worked. And thankfully it did!!!

He was such a prankster!!

Wow, I just had one as I tried to post...

A lyrics one - Donna Summer's (just found that out - I alwasy thought it was Tina Turner) "She works hard for the money" - as a kid I would sing "She works hard for her mommy". Uh, slightly different meanings but my mom thought it was too cute so she let me sing it. I wonder what strangers thought!

Awww that is so cute. When I was little I use to sing that song that went "honey honey honey wont you open that door this is your sweet daddy don't you love me no more"
I sang it "honey honey honey wont you GOPEN that doooor" I thought gopen was a word I guess? She still to this day teases me about it. In fact she told that story at our wedding lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
