Gift for your Groom

Recommended Posts

Wow, great minds think alike, lol!!! I am also thinking very strongly about getting the BD pics done, but FI keeps saying he wants a nice watch, but he specifically said a Tag, I don't know how in the world I'm going to afford a tag with paying for the wedding and everything at the same time, so if I can't afford it for the wedding, I'll get it for him for our first anniversary. I feel bad making him wait that long though, and I'm with you sarah, he'll probably fee jipped with the BD pics, "this is my gift" lol!!

I know FH wants us to really do something to remember his mom at our wedding so I bought 2 beautiful matching picture frames (one 8x10 and one 5x7) and I'm having the smaller one engraved with;

"She looks down from heaven

With the angels above

On your Wedding Day

Mom sends you her love."

and putting a picture of her in it. (We don't have any pictures of her, I had to hunt one down and then send it to get restored and have 2 people removed from it, but it turned out really nice).

After the wedding we'll put a wedding photo of us in the 8x10 and display it along the frame I got for him.

That is a wonderful gift Melissa! I'm sure he'll love it!

I didn't really get David a proper wedding gift...but we had agreed on that beforehand. We didn't want the stress of buying something else w/ all the wedding bills hanging over our heads!

I DID get his ring engraved...I had worked super hard on a little phrase for it but the jewler said it was too long! So I settled on "I love you." and our wedding date. It was a surprise to him and he actually really liked it...even more than I expected. (which was a relief!) I also wrote a sappy, lovey little card to him and had it taken over to his sister's house where he was hanging out w/ his boys & getting ready. I think the surprise factor on those things made them "better". You know?

Also, because I'm a cheese-mo...here's a pic of him finding out that his ring in engraved...it's one of my favorite pics from the day even though it's not necessarily the best one.

Well Cain doesn't really like wearing a watch and I got him a nice one for our first anniversary so to get him another would be a waste of money (for him) I'm getting his ring engraved with "I love you more" (we stay that back and forth all the time) But I'm not sure if I'll really get him anything,, our budget is really tight right now, and now that he has to pay for 05 taxes that they just sent him a note on, were even tighter on our budget.. I'm probaby just write him a really nice letter..

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
