This has been sooo helpful! I have actually just started thinking about flowers! Does anyone know which of the flowers they have available look similar to peonies. I was really hoping to have those in my bouquet, but had a feeling the climate in Mexico would not accommodate them =( Let me know if you have any suggestions.

I have heard that you can get them, but are quite costly.

Yeah I'm not sure that I want to pay extra, especially since my bouquet is included in the cost of the wedding. It looks like the Lisianthus might be a good alternative to the peony. But I'm not sure.

I am a little confused by the flower list. Both peonies and hydrangeas are listed as not available in Mexico and I had both in Cabo. In fact, hydrangeas (centerpieces), peonies and roses (bouquets) were my only flowers. Of course, flower availability depends on the season, for example, I think peonies would only be available in spring/early summer. My understanding is that almost all the flowers in Mexico are imported and a good florist can get you any flower you want in Mexico, it's just a matter of cost. In talking to my florist, I did not get the impression that peonies were one of the more expensive flowers, but maybe that's because they were in season at the time of my wedding. Good luck everyone!

I am so happy to see that various lilies are on the list for "cheaper" flowers! These are by far my favorites, and I wanted most of my arrangements with them and carnations...great info!
hoping we get there someday soon

This list is great! I wish I had found it six months ago!

I wanted hibiscus so bad but my wedding coordinator said that she did not recommend them at all. Right now we are looking at doing orchids since I am only doing a bouquet and a few scattered loose flowers on the table.

I'm hoping to use bougainvillea on my tables with some candles. I've seen it before. It looks beautiful...and affordable!!! : )
