Blau Varadero

Honestly I think if you want something just ask for it and they'll do their best to make it happen for you. Just tell them that it's important for you and that you chose the Blau based on guest reviews and their service.

From what I've seen there is live music during the dinner, at least in the photos I've seen.  You can probably mention it to her and see what she says.

I've seen photos where people have done their first dance right in the restaurant and I'm sure you can do your speeches there as well. There is also a disco by the beach where you can dance afterward. It's supposed to not be very busy which could be good because you can give the DJ a CD to play. That's what I plan on doing, slipping him a few pesos and having him play our first dance song and whatever else we might want.

As far as chairs on the beach there was discussion about this earlier in the thread. I think the resort is reluctant to put down chairs but they will do it if you insist on it. What did Isabel say when you mentioned chairs?

We've decided to get married in the gardens and then just do photos on the beach. I think I prefer that because it's more private, they decorate it for you (and we'll bring some of our own decorations as well like poms to hang from the trees) and it's also more secluded from the wind (it can be pretty windy in Cuba in December and January).

Hi, i'm thinking about getting married in blau but im not settle on that idea. Did anyone have a bad experience or something that didn't please them at this hotel.  I visited blau already 3 times, I know the atmosphere is good. I'm just worried about how they do the weddings there.

I may be considering the Blau Varadero for our Spring 2014 wedding. I would love to get married on the beach but would definitely want chairs and a simple archway set up. I wonder if there are any other brides who have been able to have this. Let me know about your wedding experiences and if this has been done with other brides wedding ceremonies.

We are getting married at the Blau Marina Varadero, the sister resort.....check out my other posts for more information. We are getting married on the beach and they do decorate it. The WC originally sent me a pic where the chairs were not decorated but when I asked, he sent me some more.....the wedding packages are very reasonable as well....here are some pics that the WC sent me 400[/img][/img]

Lydia thank you for sending me the pictures. I think this resort is definetely one to consider. I have had two travel agents recommend it. They say that people who have been there give it very good reviews, including famillies with couples getting married. They told me that the price is usually pretty resonable since the stars are a little lower than some. The beach looks so beautiful.

My friend who is a flight attendant just came back from there (she intentionally went just to review it for my wedding...so sweet of her).  She said that the resort is big and gorgeous, food is pretty good for Cuba, beach is awesome but the staff is absolutely AMAZING!!  She also liked that they only allow ONE wedding per day (some other resorts in Cuba do upto 3 per day).  She spoke to the WC and management about weddings.  Her comment was that my entire group was guaranteed to be treated like royalty for the week!    I'm very excited and can't wait!  ONLY 262 days to go...lol

Has anyone been to this resort recently?

I am considering it for my wedding in January 2014. We have a great price quoted and the reviews are very positive on TripAdvisor. I just can't find many people writing about their experiences here.
We would likely have anywhere from 30-50 people and though the basic package is extremely cheap (only $350 for eveything, including appetizers, cocktail hour, and dinner in a semi-private), I would like to have a few extras and will happily pay.... For instance, I would love a private space, if possible, and also a space to have a reception afterwards with hanging out and dancing. Is this possible?!

Right now it's been the Blau and the Lagua Azul. Any feedback would be awesome.

Thanks so much! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
