hI,

We just wondered can you get married on the beach, grounds or any place you like and also what happens if it rains!!!!

Are you using their photographer?

Are you having music and if so do they arrange this?sorry for all the questions but we have not heard from anyone regarding our wedding yet.

What time of day are you planning your wedding and will they let you use the al a carte restaurant after?

Good to hear someone else is going!!

Many thanks,paul.

Hi Paul!

You can get married on the beach, although if you do, it might be tricky convincing them to put chairs out for guests. You can also get married on the grounds, they will put chairs there and I think they have a Gazebo....they will pretty much put you anywhere you want! If it rains, they will put you inside, maybe in the a la carte restaurant, or even the lobby has nice gardens inside. I got the feeling they would do whatever you wanted.

I am not using their photographer, I am using this one:
BEST DESTINATION WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY BY AWARD WINNING PHOTOGRAPHER PETER VAN DE MAELE SPECIALIZES IN DESTINATION WEDDINGS ACROSS THE GLOBE CARIBBEAN ISLANDS CUBA JAMAICA DOMINICAN REPUBLIC MEXICO CANCUN RIVIERA MAYA PDC PLAYA DEL CARMEN EUROPE LONDON

Weddings can go pretty much all day until 4pm. After 4pm there is an extra charge. They let you use an a la cart restaurant (might depend on your group size thoughhuh.gif)

I am planning on having music, I want some live music for the ceremony and to play CDs for the first dance and have a dance with our guests after dinner. I have to ask the WC at the Blau about this - thanks for reminding me! I'll let you know what I find out. Do you have her email address? She is really good at replying quickly to emails.

Hope this helps!

hi, thanks for that. Its good to get some details! The only other thing i forgot to ask - is there a hairdresser in the hotel or nearby?? My fiancee wants her hair styling by a professional, to make sure it lasts all day ideally someone who will come to the hotel if they arent already there??

We havent got the email address for the wedding coordinator, so that would be great if you can pass it on. thanks, Paul.

Hi Paul,

The Wedding Coordinator's address is sales@blauvaradero.cyt.cu ... her name is Isabel Sabina. She's going away from Oct. 15 - Nov. 8, so if you email her now she might not get back to you right away, but normally she's really good about it.

There is a hair stylist at the resort and you can book it through the WC, I think it costs around 50 CUC. The onsite photographer and the videographer cost 150 CUC each. I'm bringing my own photographer, but I can let you know what their photographer's work looks like --- they won't send you any pics over email, you have to wait until you get there to see them, which is the same with the flowers. As for location, she'll just tell you that you can look at the resort grounds when you get there and decide then.

I'm having my own music for the ceremony, and I've been told there is a DJ there who can play a CD for me ... I haven't had confirmation about the DJ playing CD's after the wedding (i.e. for first dance, etc.), but like Jackobelle said, they seem like they'll do pretty much anything you want, so I don't see it being a problem.

I'm getting married there in less than 6 weeks (YAY!), so if you have any questions you want answered, just ask and I'll try to find them out for you.

Wow! It is getting close!! You must be excited. I am wondering which a la carte to book the wedding dinner. If you could scope them out & let me know what one might be more "weddingish" that would be great! (we decided not to pay the extra money for the lobster dinner at the new beach restaurant)

Also, are you getting married on the beach? If you are, are you getting chairs? I know this has been an issue for other Blau weddings.

Hi everyone... sorry i have been MIA for so long!!...

- the hair dresser is awesome and he did an amazing job on my hair-- i would definitely be booking him! Just a word of advice though, make sure that you book for at least 1 1/2 hours before the wedding because he is very meticulous and likes to make your hair perfect!.

- as for the a la carte restaurants, we went to palma real for the reception dinner and it was very nice! they even had a live band playing cuban style music during the whole dinner!

- one thing i wish we would have done, was had an organized dance reception afterwards but if your going to have a AHR then its not that big of a deal. We didnt really plan that part out but the beach bar had music so you could dance if you wanted to.

- i did not use the photographer there.. brought my own in but i heard really good things about him from other people who got married there that week.

hope this helps out :)

BTW jackobelle... believe it or not.. i dont have my pics back from the photographers so i still cant send u a pic of the beach set up sad.gif its been a tough go with these guys let me tell you~

Thanks for all the info guys/

6 weeks wow, hope your wedding goes well!

We was told by our travel agents that the hotel needs details of our 2 witnesses so soon but we are not sure yet who we are having, did you guys have to give details early on?

I think i will wait till november and if we have not then heard from the wc i will email her!

Are any of you planning the havana over night trip with the tropicana?

yes we did... you should probably do that ASAP.. they have to have all of the legal paperwork done before you arrive so it would be in your best interest to get that over to them soon!!! My DH and I went on the day trip to Havana the day after the wedding .. and we loved it .. we did not go to the tropicana show because we ended up going to the "pirates cave" with a bunch of the workers at blau ... its literally a club inside a cave and they had a mini tropicana show and then an open dance floor afterwards.. so i guess we didnt have the need to do the show when we went to havana... btw .. i love havana!!!!!

Thanks for all the info Jax...And welcome back! We missed you! As long as they do do chairs, I am happy. Was it hard to convince them once you were there?

That's too bad about your photos, but if I remember correctly, they got the teasers to you really quick, didn't they? Hope you are enjoying married life so far! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
