Hello!

My wedding at the Blau was December 12th and it was AMAZING!!!!!!

I could not have asked for more. You ladies that are getting marrried there, or Cuba in general are going to have the time of your lives! I am happier then ever that we decided to do a destination wedding - they are totally the way to go!

When we first got there, the wedding coordinator sat down with us for a quick half hour meeting and I picked out my flowers, location, etc. I also made my hair appointment and double checked she had a photographer.

The wedding took place at 2:00 pm, I had thought having a hair appointment at 12:00 would leave enough time in between, but it was cutting it close. I was literally running down the aisle! So that would be my only recomendation...make sure you leave enough time! The hairstylist is amazing! It is a man, and he did a wonderful job - he's just a tad slow.

The ceremony itself was awesome, we didn't do it on the beach becasue it was really busy that day and you can't have chairs on the beach ( we had some elderly guests). We had a hard enough time trying to keep people out of our pictures when we went down there for pictures!

As far as flowers, my boquet and my husbands "thingy" were provided and you can get any kind of flowers you want (basically...). If you have a flower girl, for no extra charge she can get you some petals too.

Which brings me to the photographer - he was great! For $150 we couldn't go wrong! I'll attatch some links for y'all to check out so you get an idea.

Supper was great, cake was great (we brought a cake topper), the whole day was just great!!!! If you have any specific questions I'd be more than happy to help you!!

I'm excited for those who are getting married there, and wish It was me!! We will definently be going back in the near future.

I'm so happy to hear that it was great! We really had our hearts set on getting married on the beach though... hmmm.. hope its not to busy when we are there I guess. Did you see the new beach-side restaurant? I booked it with a lobster supper and hope it is worth the extra money! I am also super relieved to hear that the photographer was good! i was kinda concerned! The flowers you had looked great too.. did you get to pick what kind of flowers you wanted? Sorry for all the questions!

The beach should be okay to get married on, you just have to realize that people aren't very respectful and will walk right threw! They can't just reserve part of the baech, as it is public. That's the case on all beaches. I never saw that restaurant on teh beach..hmm...it must be very new or its just part of the beach bar.

And yes, you can pick basically any kind of flower. They have tons to choose from.

If you need anything just let me know!

hey alisha...

Some more questions for you...

Did you bring the pink fabric on the table and pillars or was that supplied by the resort?

Did you personalize your ceremony? Your own vows or special readings? Were they accommodating for that kind of stuff? (I am think about how we are going to exchange rings)

OH, i also found out that they turned the beach bar into a seafood restaurant, so thats what we booked for the night! Hope the Lobster is good!

What did you do at the supper? Did you have music? A dance?

Ok so my wedding is 13 days away and I am starting to FREAK OUT!!!

Hey ladies! I hope im not too late to let u know this but my heart is set on the beach too! they said that they werent going to put chairs up... and i pushed the subject.. and then they told me that as long as i write a letter stating that if someone is injured from sitting on a chair during the ceremony.. then im responsible! We are totally doing that.. i was also thinking about bringing one of those arches from home.. and then leaving it after the ceremony so that they can use it for other weddings, what do you think about that? They come in a small box so im sure i could bring one with me... my wedding is in just about 2 months a Blau... please let me know how everything goes for you!!!!

hey! So the wedding was AMAZING! we did do it on the beach, people aren't very respectful, but the photographer scooted people out of the way. We booked the beachbar and had a private lobster supper that was fantastic! the weather was great! i'll attach some photos... just click the link

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
