Wedding transportation for 30+ people to ROR

Recommended Posts

We are getting married at the ROR in March 2009 and are wondering about arranging a bus for our wedding party and didn't know which companies were able to handle larger groups. We heard that the regular transfers take a bit longer as they make a few stops along the way.

I second this.....Norma from Lee's Tours has been the most responsive vendor I have encountered and her prices are very reasonable.

Does anyone who used Lee's know how many people can fit on their busses at one time? Our guests are coming in two different waves, and we definitely want to use Lee's, but didn't know how large of numbers they can accomodate...?

I know at least 23 can fit on one, and possibly more. I know she said that we couldn't use the largest buses and needed to be split into two since the larger buses can't navigate the hills up to our reception. So they must have bigger.

Does anyone know about how much Lee's Tours is charging per person? We were thinking about using them but the number of people going to ROR with us seems to be growing! I am afraid that it could get too expensive for us! Also, when you reserve Lee's Tours, can you use their buses all week? or do you have to pay each time that you use them? Thank you ladies for your information!!!

We used Lee's. We had a bit of a mix up. Norma sent 2 vehicles for us, 1 bus for passengers and 1 van for luggage. The drivers ended up loading our luggage into the bus so 4 people had to ride in the van. The bus can accomodate 20 I believe but they will send more than one vehicle if necessary. The owners are really friendly, the drivers are just a bit scattered. We all made it to the resort just fine with a beer stop and a pee stop along the way. The cost was $18/person for 19 passengers. On the way back to the airport, it was just the 2 of us and the cost was $80.

And on a side note, try to gather all of your guests in the luggage pick up area, go through customs together and have them coralled before you leave the airport. THere are a lot of shuttles and taxis outside. All of my guests knew where we were going and which shuttle company we were using but it was a complete gong show, like organizing a bunch of pre-school kids!

I just received the following information:

The standard rate for Montego Bay to Ocho Rios is US$120.00 for 1-4 persons one way, and US$30.00 for each extra person.

Lees' private non-stop Net FIT rates from Montego Bay to Ocho Rios are as follows:

o 1-2 persons US$80 one way

o 3-4 persons US$90.00,

o US$20.00 for each additional person one way

o This rate includes their complimentary welcome beverage/s.

Leeâ€s private non-stop Net Group Rate is as follows:

o 5-10 persons US$20.00 per person

o 10 – 25 persons US$18.00 per person

o 25 or more persons is US$15.00 one way, or US$30 roundtrip

It is true that the Resort shuttle service/ larger buses are cheaper; they often take a while to leave the airport because they wait for other flights and stop at various hotels en-route Mo. Bay to Ocho Rios; we meet you, and the driver is at your convenience.

- All our vehicles have Air Conditioning, are equipped with a stereo and a mobile telephone

- Your driver will provide music of your choice, and you will be able to enjoy great scenery along the coast

- You can take pictures as you travel to Ocho Rios.

- If you wish to make rest stops, just advise your driver and he will do so.

- Immediately you are picked up at the airport, you are being entertained until you arrive at your Resort.

- Weather permitting, we will get you there within 1 1/2 hours, or 2 hours at the very most.

- YOUR JOURNEY FROM Montego Bay to Ocho Rios will be a mini tour, educating and fun.

- All of our arriving Guests are given a 'Welcome package', with lots of information about Jamaica , attractions/tours etc., and particularly Ocho Rios Tours, a map of Ocho Rios with shopping info and more, after you are being seated by your chauffeur.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
