I am hoping to have the ceremony at 3:30-4pm, then have the reception at 6pm. That leaves time for the pics in between and all the guests can get freshened up and go have a drink after they get their pics taken. We are having a Nov wedding too, and that also works so that there is still good light for the pics before the sun goes down at about 5:45pm.

Our friends that got married in Cuba a couple years ago got married at 2-2:30 and the reception was at 6pm. After we were done in the pics, we went to freshen up and then all met up and had a couple drinks before heading over for supper. It worked out good.

We had about 90 minutes.

After the ceremony we had cocktails in the garden. Our guests could mingle but were still close while we were taking pictures.

There was about 15 minutes for people to freshen up before headding off to dinner.

We are doing the majority of our pictures together before the ceremony. That way we can have those first few moments of seeing eachother for the fist time, on camera. We are also having a smaller wedding (20ppl) and a very small wedding party, so the remaining pics after the ceremony will be fairly quick.

We are planning ceremony on the beach at 5. Cocktail reception on the patio overlooking the beach while we take pics from 5:30-7 and reception at 7. I am hoping I am doing it right, but this is what my photographer and friend assisting my planning that just got married recommended.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
