What do you collect?

I don't have cool collections sad.gif

I do collect Fleur de Lis things but only if they are really unique. I don't like clutter (though I have a tons of it) so I think that is my aversion to collecting. I also fear things being "over-designed". I don't want to walk in to a house full of fleur-de-lis wallpaper, curtains, art, knick-knacks, KWIM? They are kinda trendy right now so I want to be sure I have something special.

My grandmother collected salt & pepper shakers. I inherited all of them, so I guess that is something I could continue...

DH and I try to collect shot glasses from places that we visit. I know we've missed a few so I might cheat & go online to replace the ones I missed! wink.gif

When I was younger I collected teapots, but I dont really want them displayed and I have no idea what to do with them so I stopped!

I'd be able to find you tons of those here, I live in Quebec Montreal!!! Pm me if you ever need help in your search.

I'm like you.. hate clutter.. so I've moved them around (snowglobals) some here, some there. And no else is allowed buying me anymore, just when someone goes somewhere new.

I collect shot glasses. I started collecting them in high school during my sr. trip and now I have one from every city/country/state I've ever been to. I also get a few from friends when they visit places or when FI goes some place for business he brings me back a new shot glass.

Now I keep waiting for him to build be an awesome display case for them because I have no place to put them.

I collect Cinderella stuff (Disney Cinderella); snow globes, Christmas Ornaments, figurines, dolls, pins, prints and lithographs, jewelry, etc. I have a TON and always want more.

DH and I do the fridge magnets from our travels and we do a Christmas ornament each year for our son and will start the tradition with our new son this year.

I collect shotglasses, too! I have probably have about 220. If you are looking for a great shotglass holder, look at Lillian Vernon. She makes a display case that holds about 20 or so. They are really nice, I have 6 of them! They are great. They actually also make a golfball Display case that my fiance has, he collects golfballs.

I also have collected Wizard of Oz items since the 50th Anniversary, which was 25 years ago. My mother started my very young and it has just stuck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
