What do you collect?

My FI and I are not big collectors at all but we do collect Christmas ornaments from our travels.

It really started accidentally on our first trip away together (Savannah, Georgia) we were out walking around and went into a little boutique that was going out of business and had the nicest Christmas ornaments - we bought 2 that represented that trip (one is a hand blown Georgia Peach and the other was something to do with Valentine's Day as we were there over that weekend).

I am really looking forward to buying a cool "Honeymoon" related ornament in Hawaii!

What do you collect and why? smile78.gif

I collect everything and anything Alice in Wonderland. Books, toys, housewares, etc. Not really big on the Disney brand of Alice, but I still have a few of those. It's my absolute favorite children's story of all time.

I also collect piggy banks. I just think they are adorable. I especially love to find unusual ones at flea markets.

And I collect fairies because I love the idea of those mystical little creatures.

I promise my collections aren't out of hand though! They are all very small and contained collections.

I really don't collect anything, I do have a few Boston Terrier stuff, like a cute kissing salt and pepper shacker, but not really a collection.

Cain collects a few things. Snowboards and Starbucks coffee mugs of places he/we have been to.

We've always wanted to start up a Christmas ornament collection, Alyssa.

Other than that, we collect hand blown glass as well as other forms of art (mainly paintings). Oh, also we've really been getting into wine lately and would love to start collecting that (i.e. actually keeping it longer than we drink it! rofl.gif)

When I had my apartment I collected angel stuff, I just like them. i loves pigie's too so i have a TON of pig stuff that has accumulated, that is now packed away in boxes. Another thing I love, I wouldnt say I "collect" but if I see something that's adorable, I'll get it- fairies and unicorns. just its funny cuz the movie dodge ball, joe cracks up at the part when they go the the girls house cuz there is unicorn stuff ALLL over, hahahahaha that was my room as a kid. Now days if i see anything peacock i want it, haha im going to have interesting house decor huh? lololol ill have to assign every room a theme.

Wow - it's more like what don't I collect?

I have been collecting ever since I was a teenager. I started with typical stuff like stickers (big in the 80's) and stamps.

About 10 years ago, I started getting involved in antiques, and about 8 years ago, my collections were growing and I started selling antiques and collectibles. I love going to estate auctions.

My main collection is of McCoy pottery from the 1930s - 1940s and antique and vintage jewelry. I love shopping for the jewelry for my wedding! I also collect vintage tins - I love the old advertising on them.

Every Christmas we go out and buy the ugliest ornament we can find. It started accidently a few years ago when we bought this snowman globe. If you look closely at his face his eyes are popping out of his head and he has a big frown. It's halrious (an inside joke between the two of us) So the following year we went out and got another snowman globe, and this one has a really sad face if you look close up. We're total dorks!!!!!!!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
