Those pictures are absolutely amazing! DH has told me about the Cenotes and how we have to go see them (he has been several times) and I simply can not wait!

Darn it to BDW for giving us too many friggin' places to visit! Wish we could be an a never-ending vacation and just travel everywhere!!!

I was there a month ago & wasn't charged. There was a $5 fee if you wanted to take a picture with the donkey or iguana. I was told last night that they are charging $200 per hour at one of the cenotes, but I have not confirmed that. Hopefully someone who visits the cenote soon can chime in. Ana took pictures in a cenote a few weeks ago & there wasn't a fee.

Like Morgan said, the one she went to did not charge her. I think it is up to the people or organization that owns the particular cenote. What may be true at one spot may not be the case at another. Aside from a small admission fee, I would imagine that most places would not charge you extra to photograph there. Some suggestions though....

1. Ask ahead of time if possible and get a contact name.
2. Offer a tip or some sort of extra money if they help you out in any way.
3. Respect their rules and regulations. You are a guest there and have to play by their rules. Don't try to bend them.
4. Respect the cenote. These places were considered sacred by the Maya and deserve respect and consideration. Don't leave any trash. Don't break, alter or change anything there.
5. Have fun.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
