I am getting married here May 2009- and I love all these pics. It makes me so nervous because you check travel/hotel reviews and there are so many that go both ways... your review really had some great advice.

Love the pics and the idea of the horseshoe table- do you have Eric's contact info- I would love to speak with him also.

Also- we are still wondering what we are going to do for after dinner. We are younger and so my fiance was thinking about going into down and hitting up the clubs- but the i think what about our first dance and that stuff- is there a way to have that and just get some speakers and bring our ipodhuh.gif

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

thank so much!!!

hello!

i do not have eric's contact info but when you meet with the WC tell her you'd like to meet with him.. that's all i did. actually, i didn't ask- they suggested that i meet with him since i had so much stuff.

we didn't have anything planned for after dinner. the way we figured it was, we spent every day hanging out and drinking and swimming so we didn't feel the need to have a structured reception. instead, some went to bed, some went for a walk along the beach, and some of us hung out at the bar. going into town is definately an option! there are great bars in town.

we didn't do a first dance or bring an ipod. the restaurant has nice music playing in the background and there are also other people dining so i'm not sure if playing an ipod would be disturbing or not.

Aarica, How was your wedding? Can you give some info? How many guests? What time was the ceremony and where? Civil, Religious, etc? What time was dinner and where? Did you have anything set up after dinner like a reception or anything? DJ/Disco? Did you do a rehearsal dinner with all of your guests? Any information you have would be great! Thanks! Kristin

Katrina, Did you do a rehearsal dinner with your guests the night before? I'm not sure if I should include everyone in on a dinner reservation or not? Also, what time was your ceremony and what time was your dinner? There is such a long wait time between the dinner and the ceremony...Thanks!

yes, we had a "welcome" dinner- there is no actual rehearsal so we included everyone. we had our ceremony at 3 and dinner at 6:45. it is a long time but with pictures and the cocktail time, no one noticed. we got chips and guac to hold everyone over. :)

Your review is great! We are getting married there May! I am excited and nervous! I have so many questions still!!

One thing I would love to know is where you got your starfish decorations that are on the table and by the guestbook! Thanks, I have been looking for similar ones!!

Also, how long was the ceremony?? Was the dinner private Do they have a mic to do speeches with? thanks!!!

the starfish were from here: Deltona Seashells & Gifts - STAR FISH

the ceremony was pretty short.. maybe 20 minutes, but we didn't add anything- no sand ceremony, readings, etc.

the dinner is semi-private.. there are others dining but there weren't near us at all. we did speeches but without a mic. my BIL is soft spoken so i think a few people had trouble hearing him but i honestly have no idea if we could have used a mic.. i didn't ask. :)

let me know if you have more questions!

Hi again! I am loving all the posts and great tips- keep them coming. I was wondering about sunset times. We are having a 5:00pm wedding on May 22, 2009- and I am wondering about pictures. My fiacne really wants to wait to see me till right down the isle and do the pics afterwards- but will it be too dark??

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
