Anyone brides in Oct or Nov?

Recommended Posts

Hi Girls!

What does everyone think of a wedding in early Nov in the Mayan Riviera area? Is the weather bad? Anyone honeymooned during that time? I am hearing so many mixed reviews as I orginally wanted Feb 2008 but the prices are kinda high as it is peak. So what about late Oct into Nov? I found a few threads on this subject but none have really answered my question.popcorn.gif

Hope to hear from everyone soon!

We are getting married October 24 in Cuba. We also got trip insurance, but I was told that Cuba does not have the same kind of hurricane season as Mexico, it rains for an hour and then stops, its the rainy season. I hope that is accurate. I have searched on line and not see much that says any different.

I found this on line -

"September is peak hurricane season in Caribbean, Bahamas, Mexico, U.S."

"The odds of a hurricane forming and striking land in the Caribbean or northward along Mexico's west coast increases as the season unfolds in July and reaches a peak in September. Mexico's Baja California peninsula also becomes increasingly vulnerable to hurricanes beginning in July. Cabo San Lucas at the southern tip as well as La Paz about 100 miles up the eastern coast face a July hurricane about every eight years."

Hi Girls,

Since we are from Boston and our winters are horrid, FI wants to have a wedding to get away from the cold so Febuary2008 seems to be our month. Not sure if the travel $ will be any different but I am kinda bummed cause I want to get married this year!blush2.gif

I actually contemplated february too because I am also from mass and wanted to go away during the winter, but I really did not want to wait another year, thats why I ended up in october, although if I could have planned the whole thing in 4 months I would be so happy to be there right now!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
