Love Dreams Cabo - but looks pricey - any other options?

Recommended Posts

So i've only just started planning for my big day in Fall/2009! I really got my mind set on a Cabo wedding. Dreams Cabo is beautiful, but also pricey. Did anyone else do research on other hotels (preferrably all-inclusive as well) that came in as a closes second that may have been cheaper than Dreams?

Right now - we can handle costs for at least for the wedding party - but I want to have a back-up in the case that we want to subsidize some of the costs for our guests. Any suggestions would be helpful!monkey.gif

What a gracious bride you are! Wow, well, my guests and wedding party are all staying at the Riu Los Cabos. They recently opened the Riu Santa Fe which is better for the budget conscious and it's beautiful..also close to downtown Cabo (Dreams is a good 20 minute drive from town).

You could also consider a non-all inclusive like the Finesterra. It's in a great location, very nice but still easy on the pocketbook.

This might not be what you're looking for, but my FI and are getting married on the rooftop of the Casa Contenta Bead and Breakfast. It's located at Land's End and has breathtaking 360 degree views of Cabo San Lucas. We rented out the entire place for a week at an awesome rate and are putting up our wedding party there. It's not right on the water, but fairly close and has pools and jacuzzi's and will make for a very memorable experience.

For what I learned in my past 10 years living in Cabo, is that Cabo San Lucas hotels are more expensive than San Jose del Cabo ones. So if you're looking is for an all inclusive check Royal Solaris or Presidente Intercontinental in San Jose. They also have wedding packages and maybe they can adjust to you and your guests†budget.

There is also a small boutique hotel in downtown San Jose “El Encanto†perfect for small weddings. You should check it out. The web page itâ€s not working but check trip advisors review. Everytime weâ€ve worked with them, the brides seem to fall in love at first sight with the place. They have a little chapel inside the hotel so might be what youâ€re looking for.

Let me know if there is something else I can help.

Good luck and happy planning!

I also second the El Encanto Inn. I am getting married there next April and have visited there twice before and can tell you it is absolutely beautiful and has the cutest chapel on the property. It is very intimate and romantic if that is what you are looking for, much more so than those big resorts! Best of luck in your planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
