Welcome Welcome!

I am driving myself crazy trying to pick a location to get married in, so at least you have managed that, good work! Actually, Dreams Tulum is one of the places I am considering. :) Glad to hear you have been there and loved it, since some of my reservations stem from the bad reviews I've read of the 'old buildings'... Although I called them last night and they said you can reserve the new building... so that's good!

Can't you have a simple reception in Tulum, and then if anyone wants to throw you a party when you get back, they can?

Just an idea... and welcome!

Welcome!

Try not to stress too much. Invitations can be really fun! Depending on if you are doing a more casual wedding you can do things like passports, message in a bottle, or the traditional invite. I think destination weddings are exciting, so no matter what people will be excited with the invite.

As for the at home reception, could you hold it in a park or at a local art museum? A lot of times smaller town art museums are a lot cheaper but make for a really great atmosphere.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I was telling people at work how I'm now on the computer about 6 hours a day since I got engaged...trying to figure it all out.

So, I saw this cute palapa idea for the wedding couple (we're having a morning wedding and then hanging out on the beach the rest of the day with our friends until our cocktail hour). My mom and I are going to hang ivory and blush pink gauze all around whichever palapa my FH and I are going to hang out under that day. That's the idea that I'm currently excited about.

I also want to get blush pink rice umbrellas for the ceremony. Seems like I'll be hoisting a lot of luggage.

The AHR is still a mystery. I've tried some local city-owned places, and they're in way high demand. We're in a lottery for one, and the other one that is anywhere near decent is only available one time this year. So, still working on that.

Phew.

Aw, but it's kinda fun.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
