Weather Question!

Recommended Posts

So, I am officially a future Cabo bride!!! My FI and I settled on RIU Santa Fe, Septemeber 25th, 2009. Our date and time are confirmed...we booked for 5pm in the gazebo area :)

We are fully aware that it is hurricane season, this was a risk we took knowingly but we really wanted September and heard from several sources that Cabo was very very rarely hit by hurricanes because of it's location. So we went for it!!!!

My question: Since we should be expecting brief showers since it is rainy season, what time of day do they usually come at? Like is it typical for night showers? or most likely morning rain or is it different ever time? Any input would be helpful as if there is a typical time of day that it rains we may request to have our ceremony time changed since it is outdoors.

Thanks in advance!

Hello lgarner83,

There is really no set time for the rain season in Cabo. The only time that rains here in Cabo is when we have a tropical storm or hurricane close by. And as you know, hurricanes /storms are very unpredictable. Once the water temperature warms up, it is a magnet for developing storms.

Hurricane season officially begins on May 15 and ends on November 15 each year. But during the 15 years I have been living here, it is usually august, september and the first 2 weeks of october where rain happens.

Hopefully this answers your question :)

Have a great day!

Hi lgarner83,

It's really rare when it rains in Cabo, but you may get some cloudy days especially during the months of August and September. It's really ahead of time to check for possible hurricanes of storms, but I lived here for 10 years now and I only had one big hurricane.

This is the web page that I use, hope it helps.

San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico Forecast : Weather Underground

It has a "plan your trip" tool that could be helpful.

Anyway have in mind a plan B in case of rain (inside a restaurant at the Hotel, or a Ballroom).

Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
