Hi ladies,

I'm just curious to know more about the casita's at EDR. FI and are planning for 8 nights in either a regular casita or individual casita. Can someone share their insight on them. Im wondering if there is a particular "section/block" of casita rooms that have turned out better than others? Do to location, atmosphere, privacy, service, etc...

EDR Brides, please share your expeirences and/or knowledge of them. Thanks!

Hi! We had our honeymoon at EDR, we had one of the swim up casitas, we LOVED it!

The casitas are beautiful and it's nice to have a pool just for your section of casitas, so it's not so crowded. I think we were in section 30, but I might be wrong. The sections that are further away are newer. They were just starting to open the new ones when we were there, there was ones with private pools and I think the other ones were the presidential casitas, which had a much larger room. Although the room we were in was plenty big enough.

The outdoor showers in your room are really cool too!

I think if you get 2600 or higher- those are the "newer" Casitas....

We were booked for a regular Casita and when we got there got bumped up to a swim-up and loved loved it! We were in 2912...

2 of my girlfriends stayed in a regular casita in the building beside us on the 2nd floor and it was amazing- a straight view of the ocean and their outdoor shower was actually bigger than ours.

the rooms at the resort are amazing-most of our guests just had the standard, cheapest room and still was the most beautiful room they'd been in!

Now that you say that, I definitely think it was section 30 we were in, because we were right near the infinity pool section.

ahhh, I wish I was there right now, kicked back with a margarita!

Can I ask, How did you get bumped up? Did you have to pay extra?

Well, Mandy and DH were booked in the 30 block, the same as us and another couple. When we got to EDR, she asked to be put in a different block away from her parents so they would have some privacy on their honeymoon and not always be running into us. msnwink.gif The concierge upgraded her to the infinity casitas. I had actually booked all 3 couples in the 30 block, hoping they would bump her up, so it worked out good for her. The rest of our group stayed in the regular rooms.

Our room was an infinity casita in building 31. Amazing. Here's some pics of our room. Like my mom (Melanie) said, we were upgraded.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
