How much did it cost for your guest to attend your DW?

Recommended Posts

Cdnvb9- wow! If you get 80-120 that would be an amazing attendance! I hope they all do come...and I hope your resort and airline show you some serious love in upgrades etc.

We haven't finalized things yet...but based on our pricing assumptions we're assuming that it will be anywhere between 1700/2000-2600 per person. That being said...we're hoping and planning on compensating everyone so that everyone pays around 1500/1700-2000 per person. And that's low season.

We're still toying with the idea of high seasons...but some locations/villas lock you in at a mandatory 2 weeks for high season....and that is just too much!

I would think that your price is way cheaper than others because you live in Texas, which is a much shorter flight to MX. I live in Missouri and right now airfare is near $600 to Cancun!!

We are staying at the Valentin in Riviera Maya. Our guest right now are paying $1300 a person for round-trip (direct) flights and 4 nights all-inclusive. Airfare is so high for my area right now, almost $600 of the $1300 is airfare!! If guest buy the travel insurance and prices go down they will get money back, which I think is a really good thing!

It seems to me that regular travelers think this a good price but non-travelers think it is a bit high. I think many people are not thinking of how prices are raising for everything!

My guests are paying $145/night an a NON-AI resort.

I'm guessing they will stay anywhere from 3-5 days.

Flights to Cancun are SUPER expensive now (it didn't always used to be like that), averaging around $600 RT per person.

SO, if my guests stay for 5 nights, it will be around $1925 per couple. I feel guilty now that I actually calculated that out! BUT...this is why we are only expecting 30 people..a lof of my friends right out of college, and family members too, unfortunately won't be able to afford it. But all the important ppl will be there so it is all good!

If they book right now, it'll be $1,180 per person for 8 days/7 nights including roundtrip airfare (from Chicago) and all-inclusive hotel, as well as roundtrip airport transfers.

Most people aren't staying a week, though. Our wedding is over a holiday weekend so a lot of people are just doing a long weekend for about $800/person (including roundtrip airfare & all-inclusive hotel).

It's a new resort so I think prices will start to rise soon. (I've been bugging everybody to at least pay their deposit to lock it in.)

We're not doing an AI wedding, but we've blocked rooms that range from $179 - $229 per night. I'd say that people will stay two nights at a minimum, and some will make a longer vacation out of it.

Airfare is impossible to estimate since people will be coming from all over the country, and some will be driving (Florida guests). People can also choose to go in together on a vacation rental, or find a cheaper hotel. I'm still worried that the costs will keep too many of our dear friends away. frown.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
