How much did it cost for your guest to attend your DW?

@@kmk2016 I am in the same boat as you for Azul Beach Feb 27, 2015. So far most people are on board for at least 3-4 days but we've had some that are not too happy about the price. (This coming from people that will pay for a vacation to Hawaii and other places multiple times a year so I don't think I'm being unreasonable).

Frustrating huh?

Funny- my FI was concerned with the price until this week- we are in Hawaii for my work as I type this, and he turned to me and said wow- this trip would cost WAY more than it's costing our our friends/family to come to the wedding huh?! Every time you turn around you have to pay for something- the price for the AI in Mexico is actually a great deal for what they get.... I felt a lot better, since my family are all big travellers and the price didn't phase them, but for his friends and family they aren't quite as used to it... So knowing he can feel confident that it's worth the $$ when he talks to "his people"- makes me sigh a bit of relief.

We considered a cruise wedding and I keep telling them, yea I cruise may sound cheaper up front until your are slapped with your alcohol bill at the end! Is your wedding next Feb or 2016?

2016! Lol... Not a typo!

We wanted to allow everyone plenty of time to plan/save $, and since many of our guests already have plans for this coming Christmas holidays (ourselves included travelling with my MoH and her family to WDW and Disney Cruise), we didn't think it fair to have people have to save for another expensive vacation shortly thereafter.... So we chose 2016 and are sending out booking info/invites this July- allowing people a year to save (final payments won't be due until end of October 2015- so ahead of any Christmas spending that may pop up) hopefully it solves everyone's worries and we don't get a ton of backlash over price!

The cheapest, standard room costs 136/night and the most expensive suite costs 270/night at an AI resort. They are staying from a range of 3 nights to a week, so they are spending between $400- $1400 depending on which room they chose - plus flight!!

Some guests are fine with paying for the more expensive rooms, or Preferred Club rooms whereas most of my guests don't mind getting the cheapest room.

This is at Now Larimar, Punta Cana btw.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
