My dress may be ruined!

Well, I went to get my dress today and of course it was a mess. The lady was very upset about it and wanted me to leave it with her another week so she could remove the chiffon and replace it. I was at my wits end and told her to just refund the money for the alterations and return the dress. I was not going to wait another week just to see that she didn't do it correctly. It is a mess. The good news is I happened to find this little Christian book store that sells wedding dresses! Why, I don't know but I found another perfect dress that looks even better on me! It also is not as heavy and I won't be so hot in it. It was only $100.00!!!! The length is perfect but I have to have the hips let out a little because of my fat a**. I don't know what I'm going to do with the other dress. I think I will take it to a consignment shop and see if it sells. Thanks everyone for listening to my venting.

I don't know about you, but I think this woman needs to find a new profession! I am very sorry she was unable to fix it, but am VERY happy you found another dress! It will fit and will look beautiful! (No, you don't have a fat ass, but that made me giggle a bit) Thanks for the update!

Well, that is unbelievable about that woman, but it's an amazing twist that you've found something that looks even better and was such a good deal!!! punk.gif

In terms of having to let it out around the hips... I'm just a little worried. Who are you going to take it to? Hopefully someone who can RTFM.gif LOL!

Post pics of the new dress!!! :)

This is such a horrible situation. You need to go back to and speak to the owner but you must be nice and calm do not go bridezilla. No one wants to help someone who is nasty or yelling at them. This is a hard situation to stay calm in...Did you sign anything when you dropped off or picked up your dress if you did read it over and over and make sure you did not sign your rights away and see if they have a guarentee of any kind even if it it is hanging on the walls in handwritten on construction paper and use that. Chances are they will want to fix it with no problems no one wants to hurt someone especially a bride. good luck and keep us posted

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
