HELP....a little flustered

Lately I feel like I am new! lol

Who knew that planning the biggest day of your life would make you so crazy. I thought it was going to be a breeze and really fun doing the destination wedding. We want to go somewhere fun, beautiful, and not to expensive for our guest (we would like to stay at a really nice hotel since it is our big day) and also somewhere that kids are welcome....not too much to ask for.

We started out looking at the Mayan Riveira at the Riu resorts because we heard that they are amazing and the Mayan has LOTS to do but now we are affraid that it might turn out to be too much for our guest and might change to a cheeper place.

Our wedding day isnt till 2010 (we were thinking April) so we cant get an idea of prices because they arnt out yet and wont be for some time.

Anyone have any suggestions on a nice resort they got married at and how much it cost them?

Thanks Ladies :)

Welcome to the forum! Its okay to feel overwhelemed, almost everyone feels like this when they are starting out.

How about Dreams Cancun or Dreams Tulum? They are both all-inclusive and family friendly. I'm not sure about pricing, it may actually be along the lines of the RIU.

Or how about Las Caletas in Puerto Vallarta? It is absolutely beautiful and a lot of girls have had beautiful, weddings there that weren't crazy expensive.

Welcome!!! Don't worry about being over-whelmed! It's all a little crazy in the beginning! Once you get the booking off your chest, you can actually start having FUN planning!!!! Of course there are a lot of great hotels, but I'll go ahead and give you my recommendation too! We're getting married and staying at the Barcelo Maya Palace (Riviera Maya) It's a great price, a beautiful all-inclusive hotel, and is definetely kid friendly. They have a mini kid water park too! I have lots of pictures of everything from the food to the rooms, to a wedding taking place. PM me if you are interested!

I'm feeling the same way. I'm looking for the same thing, affordability for my guests, fun, etc. and planning for 2010 and already feel overwhelmed. I just want to book the resort and hopefully I can sleep again. Good luck to both of us. :)

Welcome to the forum! Even though your wedding is in 2010 you can still probably get a rough idea on cost. If you feel certain places are way too much right now then they will deffinately be more by then. It would be a good way to eliminate. Best of luck with the planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
