Second Marriage in Cuba info?

Recommended Posts

I read that if you have been divorced, they want you to get these documents notarized and the cost is around $700 CAN! Why is this? Anyone know? I have had everything changed back to my maiden name, how do they know if you have been married before? Is this really neccessary?

If you have a great travel agent she can take care of this for you - at a lower cost - i believe - well... i mean at least it is worth a shot, right?

the alternative is getting married here in Canada, then having a symbolic ceremony in Cuba. That is common practice too!

Good Luck!!!

My fiance has also been married before and after talking to a travel agent yesterday she said she has heard some bad stories of paperwork getting messed up with cuban paper translations for weddings!! :S....so now ive decided to get married at home before we go...its much easier and the paperwork will be in english for the marriage certificate which is better i think :o) id be nervous signing wedding papers in a language i cant read lol...ive heard of some stories on here of people signing papers and then they find out later on that it included a pre-nup!! not for me thanks lol...i think doing the legal part at home is much smarter

We'll be doing ours legally in Cuba. It may be less hassel to do it in Canada beforehand, but I dont want to take away from the whole reason we decided to do it in Cuba. We have all our documents legally translated and notarized. I have copy of the vows, and we'll translate the marriage certificate when its done and confirm that its all legit.

I think it'll be worth it doing it down there. I hope anyways.

People only hear about the bad experiences, not the good. I'm sure lots of people have been married there hassle free. Just have to be careful of what you do that's all.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
