Thanks everyone for all of your great ideas! Once we were there it was actually pretty hard to go "out of the way" to do a lot of it, but we had an amazing time regardless! We spent a lot of time in Soho and the lower east side, plus the Yankee game was a blast! We ended up in the adidas box so all of our food and drinks were free...needless to say, we were all pretty wasted by the time we left :) It was SO much fun!

My favourite place was an Italian place we went in the Lower East Side called Lil Frankies - honestly, this place is amazing! I'm 100% going back there next time I go to NYC. I had the best appetizer there that I've ever had in my entire life, and the pasta melts in your mouth...plus the atmosphere is great. I totally recommend it!

Here are a few pics from our weekend:

The hotel we stayed at - LOVED it:

Outside our box at the Yankee game:

In our new Yankee gear *slightly intoxicated at this point*

View from the rooftop suite of our hotel:

That's it! I can't wait to go back again, although my wallet is still on fire so we probably won't be making the trip there again for awhile

Thanks again everyone for your suggestions!

If you like italian food you should def check it out, it is awesome. You can also go have brunch at Cipriani's that is always a good time and get Bellini's. Or you can have brunch at Pastis.

Since you already saw all the touristy things I would say just enjoy eating. LOL. New Yorkers love their food. Or if you did want to see something you could go see the "Walking with Dinosaurs" exhibition in Madison Square Garden. It runs from July 30- August 3. It is supposed to be awesome, they have real life looking dinosaurs.

Also there is that cadaver exhibit in South Street Seaport called "Bodies the Exhibition". People seem to really love that.

Both of these events are not touristy things they are things that NYers go see so maybe you'd like to check one of them out.

Obviously you should shop till you drop b/c there are tons of stores especially in SOHO. And SOHO has those great little vendors on the street that sell cool jewlery and sunglasses.

As far as nightlife goes some of the "good" clubs are kind of hard to get into but you can still go somewhere nice like the Hudson Hotel or the Rooftop of the Empire Hotel.

      Hope you have fun!
I would definitely second going to Pastis!

I just realized you were back!

We did the whole last year at Yankee Stadium a few weekends ago and had a fantastic time. We were so lucky to get out alive (it was during a Red Sox game) but so worth it.

        Glad you had fun!

Yeah it was a blast! We decided we want to try to go for a "first year at the new stadium" game next year, haha. I can always find reasons to go back to NYC!

            Here are my picks.

There's an off the beaten path place called Diablo Royale. Fabulous margaritas and spare ribs

            Diablo Royale - N.Y.C.

For steak go to Dylan Prime and have the "Carpet bagger". Best meal I have ever eaten.

DYLAN prime : Tribeca's Premiere Steakhouse

            For cocktails.....

            Puck Fair
            Puck Fair Bar NYC

Astoria Beer Garden (never seen anything like this in my life). It's awesome! Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden

            Carnegie Club
            Hospitality Holdings
