And this may be a stupid question, but are we supposed to tip the DJ on top of their fee? I'm not sure how that works in Mexico. Do you know what you were planning on doing?
Thanks!!!
Here's DJ Bob's website: Mexico Destination Riviera Maya Wedding DJ Bob has the most Experience in the Area

I think tipping the DJ is like tipping any other vendor ~ it's done if you feel their services warranted a tip on top of what they charged you. FI and I are setting aside a budget for tips on the assumption that all our vendors will come through with great service, but of course it ultimately depends on whether they'll deliver as we'd hope cheesy.gif

Two thumbs up for DJ Bob!!! He was great!! He played everything I requested and filled in the rest with matching tunes! His timing for key songs was impeccable! Everyone was on the dance floor and for 9 people and my family that is a HUGE accomplishment!!

I was a bit nervous using an offsite vendor for my wedding. DJ Bob was always very easy to get a hold of which helped with planning and ease of mind. He even visited my resort and met with my WC before the wedding!!

DJ Bob is a great guy! He will work with you to make your event incredible!

His email is- boradem@aim.com

I believe he's $450 for the first 4 hours, and then $50 for every hour thereafter. Pretty reasonable for a DJ and I heard he's very entertaining punk.gif Hope this helps!

DJ Bob just played at our wedding on Feb 28 and he was AMAZING!!! I do not have enough kind words to say about him. From the first conversation he and his wife were really friendly. Prior to finding him we thought we would have to down load and plan our the entire layout of music for our reception in case the DJ did not speak english however with DJ Bob we only needed to supply him with 10 songs and he did the rest. We heard nothing but raves from our guests on his music selection. I would highly recommend him!!!

Thanks! That's great to hear. We booked DJ Bob for our wedding on April 1, 2009 and I am so excited to have found him. I was beginning to get stressed about having to download all of our own playlists when I came across some information on him. He has been great to talk to so far and I know he even went to the Iberostar resort (as there are several of us who have booked with him) to meet with our wedding coordinators.

Thanks for this! It always feels good to hear nice reviews...calms the nerves a bit.

Wow, you guys highly recommend him. So I think I'll send him an email asking if he is avilable in May. What the WC quoted me was so high. I was looking for a less expensive option.

Everyone's info. was so very helpful. Thank you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
