How much are you planning on spending for Travel Costs for Photographers?

Recommended Posts

I am driving myself crazy!!! Ever since I joined this forum, I've seen so many great work, and my standards of photography have raised. I found a photographer who seems to be reasonable for the package she is offering. When I contacted a month later she raised her price by $600! It still seems reasonable BUT when I add travel costs, I don't know if we can afford her. I've searched and contacted other photographers, and yes they offer cheaper packages, but I keep comparing it to the package she offers and I think she offers so much for your money.

I'm wondering how much you all are planning on spending for travel? How long did/are you planning on having your photog stay at the hotel?

We're staying at Dreams PV, flying in from Los Angeles in July 2008. Any ideas of how much I should estimate??

Thanks

I can't help either, I got a local photographer.

But if I had to estimate, probably 350-500 airfare depending where they're coming from (and I have no idea how expensive pv flights are) and then 2-3 nights, I would do 2, but I don't know if the resort has a minimum stay. approx. $200/night?

my guess would be between $1000 & $1300, does that sound about right?

Have you thought about asking Juan Carlos if he want's to travel? PV is just a hop skip and a jump from Cabo. I just had to fly to Mexico City from Cabo and we had a stop in PV. I think round trip from Cabo the flight would have cost about $250-300 dls and there are some pretty cheap new airlines in Mexico that only fly domestically... Check it out!

I know what you are going through. Everyone's work that I love - FI thinks they are too expensive.

We are looking at bringing a photographer from home for our wedding at EDR (hopefully!). My Travel agent said it would be about $1000 for a flight and, at the EDR about $155/night. at EDR an outside photographer has to stay 3 nights now.

in my photog hunt travel was either included in the package, or if it wasn't it was typically about $1000-1500 additional - there were a couple that did just say I'd pay for the actual cost of travel and 1 room for 2 nights or something, but it seemed most just asked for a flat fee of $1000-1500 on top of the package price. Like I said though, some just build it into the package price.

Juan was definitely willing to travel - so if you're interested in him, ask him how much it would cost!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
