Jamaica Humidity - Hair

Recommended Posts

Just a quick question about the humidity. I have curly hair - it frizzes - but not extremely curly. I was hoping to only put half of my hair up as I don't really look good with my hair pulled up completely.

So, my question is...is the humidity that bad? Getting married in November so I was thinking it wasn't going to be.

Any thoughts?

I have extremely curly hair and in Mexico will not be strait what so ever. Instead of going all up or down, I am going to randomly pin it to get the half up down look. I would make one plan of having your hair half up and curly and a back up plan just in case the humidity is different. That way there's no suprises, and you know your hair will be taken care of. :)

I worry about the humidity too! My hair isnt curly but its does have random wave and what FI& I affectionately call "Mad Cow-licks Disease"! I use a flat iron everyday to smooth it out. If its humid, my hair will frizz up like a Q-tip! I'm hoping to be able to wear it down for the ceremony... guess I'll have to buy the Drug store out of "Frizz-ease before I go! HA!

I was just in Jamaica the last week of June I do not have curly hair and I do not have straight hair. It takes a lot of product for it to curl and hours with the blower and straightner to make it straight. So I didn't want to check my bag so I brought NO product with me and honestly my hair didn't look good but it didn't look bad and for no effort I think, that is impressive. There was a cool breeze when on the beach and the humidity was really bad in the early morning but broke up through the day. I was in M Bay I am not sure if it is like that all over Jamaica. I was thinking of doing a side pony tail or just random pins making a half up half down look but not perfect looking so it will hide the frizz :)

I like the idea of the pin up look. But with my hair it frizzes really bad underneath. UGH this is crazy...now you know why women with curly hair want straight hair lol

We have had bad humidity lately and my hair looks awful. Even when using the necessary styling products for frizzy hair.

I'll have to take a look at the other thread..

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
