Sooo close...I'm starting to freak out a little bit!!! I need to sit down and do a for sure to do list!!!
Hey Nibsmom, I am actually feeling calm right now...... hard to believe. But, so many things have upset me along the way that I have finally relized.... It will be what will be.

I would love to see what you are saying about customs on your brochure. My brochure is on my list to start this week. We have so many boxes of OOT stuff we have decided to hand deliver all the local bags the week before the trip. We lost another couple (from the NE) due to the flu so now all our guests are local or flying out of Austin.

On a funny note - or at least I have to laugh at it.... My FI has been responsible for several things like his and my boys clothing choices(he actually wants to keep this a secret from me), ordering wedding bands, etc. He hadn't done any of this yet. So Saturday, I mentioned some things have to be ordered and we are leaving in 9 weeks.... He looked at me with an initial blank stare then about an hour later, he took me out and ordered my band ..... since it takes 6 - 8 weeks to get in. I think I finally got a fire lit..... maybe now he will start on the clothing side for them.

Yeah, the swine flu thing put things in a little perspective for me...I feel less stressed about all the things I need to do now and I'm just worrying about that. LOL. Right now, I'm feeling a little mad because everyone else within the 3 month mark at the MP got their WC contact, and I was told I needed to wait until 1 month....I'm just going to email and try to reserve stuff anyways!

In my brochures, I put the following about customs:

Don't forget your passport! You'll need it to get in and out of the country. Be sure to keep it in a safe place!

On your way into Mexico, you'll be asked to fill out a customs declaration and immigration forms on the plane. These are mainly to make sure you are not bringing in illegal items or planning to move to Mexico permanently. For more information about these forms, check out: Mexican airport-customs and Mexican airport- immigration. These websites have detailed instructions on how to fill out these forms and what they look like. One will be your Mexican Tourist Card, which will be given back to you once you reach Mexico. Don't lose it! You'll need it to get back into the United States.

That's all. I figured people who don't travel a lot would be most freaked out by these forms...I know I was when I went to Jamaica last year!

Definitely! But I'm actually not too worried about it anymore...LOL. There are like 5 confirmed cases within 40 minutes of me, so I figure I'm way more likely to get it here than Cancun! LOL.

Besides, I think what's going to happen is that it's going to die out with the coming of summer, then come back in the fall, so I'm hoping us July brides will be good to go!

Hi Ladies,

I am a May bride transplant. Our guest's flights were canceled by air transat so I had to push the wedding back to July 6th or lose my mind trying to re book. I kinda like being slightly sane, so we just pushed it back.

I thought I would check in and say hi!

I am finished with most of my planning...considering, and now just have some finishing up to do over then next 2 months!

Thanks for the customs wording!! That sounds great! I have never been to Mexico via airplane so I have no clue what to expect!

I am just glad the news has all calmed down about the s flu and things are getting back to normal. What even better to hear is that this S. flu is not as bad as even the regular flu strain.

So now...... let's all hold our breath, say our prayers, do our indian chants, or whatever it takes to not have something else come up in the next couple months. Between the violence in Mexico, the economy and now the S. flu, we have lost 50 of our rooms and people attending the wedding. We have been getting some news that there may be some last minute add ons though...... if they can get a room in the resort we are in.

Hello ladies,

I am a July bride, getting married Jul 9 at Secrets Maroma. I'm only having a ceremony with my fiancee and me, so not much to worried about. So far I have booked my photographer (Cecilia Dumas) and still don't have my dress (going this week). fiancee is deployed right now, coming back in about 2 weeks (yayyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!) :) so just waiting to see what he's going to wear. Other than that I don't think there is much more to do.

Hi Maybride2009! I too am a May bride transplant, and I'm happy to hear that you were able to re-schedule your wedding!! We just confirmed our newest plans on Friday! Having most things ready for our wedding I'm wondering how I'll keep myself busy as wedding prep made the time go by so much quicker before! Lol!

But it sounds like you all are adjusting and rolling with the punches! :) I guess all you can do at this point! I commend you all! Did it cost a lot to book another date? I am sure it is been gut wrenching! Props and love to you all! BTW, I hear July is a great month to get hitched! wink.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
