Calling July 2009 Brides!

Recommended Posts

Hi there! I'm a July 2009 bride too. We're getting married at Dreams Tulum on July 18, 2009.

Wow...that sounds so far away but I guess it'll be here before I know it! I just hope my fiancee can handle the wedding talk for an entire year. Anytime I start talking about the wedding details his eyes glaze over!

I havent spoken with my WC yet, so I dont know much about how the process is going to be. I hear a lot of great things about Dreams so I am excited. I have read in the forum that is sometimes takes the WCs a while to get back to you. I wish I had more info.....

- Booked the location
- Gotten a dress
- Gotten my FI's outfit
- Picked our colors
- Ordered and received our STDs (we still have to put them together and send them out)
I believe that this is it...there is so much more to do though! Any specific islands that you are looking into?

Reading this I feel so far behind!!
I haven't even booked the resort yet!! Am I leaving this too late??
We are off to the resort at the end of September to make sure it will be righ for what we want.
I've only just started to look at dresses online an havent been to any boutiques to try them on.
We don't even know who will be coming??

Am I the most unorganised DW bride ever??

Bluefields Bay Villas, Jamaica for July 17, 2009. I visited the location in July and knew immediately it was the right spot for us.

I have:

Booked the villas

Booked the photographer

Bought my dress

Purchased my STD's but haven't received them yet

Completed an initial website for info on the wedding

Shopped for groom and groomsmen attire, but haven't picked yet

I will be getting married in exactly 11 months and I cannot wait!!

  • 2 weeks later...

Time is flying fast! I keep thinking I have so much time, and now I have to stop dragging my butt and do stuff.

so far I have

-ordered my dress

-the other day I got bridesmaid dresses

-booked rooms at Dreams for me, my FI, and immediate family

-reserved and put downpayment down for AHR

what else should I be doing....hmmmm?

Oh, and I am doing invites tomorrow. I think I am good for now. If there is anything I am forgetting to do that needs to be done now...please someone let me know! (thanks in advance)smile03.gif

Don't worry at all - You have plenty of time!! I am just trying to get ahead of the game...my FI and I will be moving the same month we get married, but we don't know where to (his job moves him around). Because of this, I want to get the wedding stuff out of the way asap, so that when we figure out where we are moving, I will be able to focus on getting a job & getting all of the stuff together.
With a DW, there isn't as much planning involved either, so you will definitely be okay.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
