Warning ROR!

Recommended Posts

Here is the email I sent to Chandyln this month when I was having similar concerns and her respsonse... I played dumb and phrased it in a more positive way.

"A family friend has offered to do our wedding photography as his wedding gift to us. I just wanted to clear this ahead of time, however don't imagine it should be an issue as he will be a guest at the resort.

ANSWER: This would not be a problem."

For anyone with concerns just email Chandlyn and get the confirmation in writing. She doesn't seem to have a problem with it. (and suprsingly has been really quick at emailing back lately...even though I'm still 5 months out) The issue with Robin may just be that she has been there multiple times... so the family friend part might not work.

Ok, so who all should we get confirmation from on this issue? I know we can email Chandlyn, but is there more than one person that we could get an OK from, to be extra covered? Should we email Michael or avoid him? It seems like his responses are always inconsistent...

It should not matter how many times Robin has been there or how many weddings she has shot b/c they do not have a policy that says outside vendors are not allowed! They say over and over that you can bring your own photog they just have to stay for 3 nights or pay for a day pass.

For those of you who have upcoming weddings, I think you need to be upfront with your photog and make them aware of the situation so that if someone approaches them they won't be caught off guard. I would also make sure to discuss this with Chandlyn when you have your face-to-face meeting. She may not even be aware that any of this took place.

Wow!!! I really can not believe this happen to Robin. How Scary AND what if it would have happen before the brides wedding!!!! My cousin did my pics and I didnt have a problem, but she was very clearly a guest (with a baby) so.... That really should not matter. Everyone get confirmation in writting and give a copy to your photog (since it sounds like they would try to boot the person when they are alone). I just cant believe they would go that far...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
