Past ROR Brides

Recommended Posts

I know that I have seen several threads about this topic, but it is hard for me to dig through all the threads to find exactly what I am looking for. I want to know if any past ROR brides arrived on a Thursday and were married on Saturday. My FI and I have already booked and were planning to arrive on Wednesday because we heard that you need to be there 2 full business days prior to your wedding date. However, we may need to change our arrival date to Thursday due to some other obligations. I was just wanting to know if this is possible or do we have to arrive on Wednesday? Any information you guys can pass along is greatly appreciated!!!!

We arrived on Tuesday & were married on a Friday. If you have to change your arrival date for any reason, I suggest sending an email to Chandlyn, explain your situation & ask her if this is a problem.
I vaguely remember someone else not being able to arrive 2 days early & I don't think they had a problem.

I also had that same issue and I stressed over it for days!!!!

However, we just had our TA call and she talked to whomever and dealt with the situation. We are arriving Saturday and getting married on the Tuesday- all is good!

I tried to write to Chandlyn before, but go no where, so I got my TA involved and everything is a go!

Jamaican Law says 24 hours, not 2 days. The Riu is the one stating 2 days. We are getting married at the Riu Montego Bay and ran in to the same situation. Our TA was able to get us the day we wanted. We arrive the 26th and are getting married the 28th. They don't do weddings on Sunday...so we would have had to wait till the 2nd if they haddn't let us move up the date. I was SOOOOO happy when I finally got my confirmation for the 28th.

Hi! Similar comments as above. We're arriving on a Saturday and wanted to get married on the Tuesday for a couple of reasons. Our TA called the Riu Weddings office and asked if we could do it on the Tuesday and there were no problems. Just have your TA look into it and it should be okay.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
