Can't wait to see your edit.
OK now that I got my program running (I needed a new codec whatever that means) its awesome. I'm just cutting out parts & moving stuff around. it might be a whole lot easier than i expected. I still don't know how to incorperate still images, but I'm making progress.

I'm using tutorials on you tube to get started.

yeah we were total brats. It's just weird when you are so full of excitement & just want to be together but you've got to just stand there side by side. I put way too much script in the beginning I think. I'm so glad it was short. I don't know how people make it through a long ceremony.

Haha we did it too, so funny. The minister was talking about the sanctity of marriage or whatever and DH is all "you smell good" LOL

I agree with the length, short and meaningful works best but you usually don't find that out until after the fact. Future brides take note - you'll be excited and hot so less is more :)

BTW since you're so good w/tech stuff...when I put our wedding DVD in the computer is says it can't play it because of the format or something, I forget the exact message.

Did you have to download something to play yours or is my computer just lame? It plays other DVDs just fine.

do you know what kind of file it is? mine was a .vob file. You can just change the extension to .mpg & it behaves much better.

Mine played fine on the computer. But, I couldn't edit it until I changed it to a .mpg & then converted the .mpg to an .avi.

I did a bunch of editing tonight. I am really starting to love the video now. I just have to import the music & draft 1 will be done. it's good enough for the AHR. I'll probably improve it later. I just want something finished before we fly home so I don't have to share the making out video with the entire AHR.

I think I'd be really uncomfortable to watch the whole thing with a room full of people.

I'll let you know how hard it ends up being. I hope to make some progress this weekend.
I have all the raw footage. I had Paul from Playaweddings, my DVD has 3 chapters (1) the wedding day edit, approx 4 mins (watched it a zillion times!), (2) raw footage of the ceremony, approx 15 mins (have showed it to a few people, watched it maybe like 5 times), and (3) raw footage of before and after the ceremony, approx 1 hour (long and boring, we only watched this once, there is the very odd little funny part but very few and far between).

I woudn't redo the edit, Paul did a wonderful job. I would rate the edit like a 9/10 because it's wonderfully done but there is a few little things I would change if I did it myself (not that I have the skills to do it so well). So I did provide feedback to him afterwards (about putting just a few extra clips of the ceremony and less kissing at the end) and he said he'll keep that in mind for future videos.

Here is a very rough draft of the edit I'm making. I haven't figured out how to do still pictures in adobe premiere so I just used the slideshow I made previously. I plan on redoing the transistions. too much zooming in & out.

Also, there is a clip of waves at the start that shouldn't be there so the title slide is messed up.

After about 9 minutes there is some new stuff I haven't uploaded yet. It's the post-ceremony footage.

The whole thing is 15 minutes.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
