The day started off good. My Mom came over before we headed down to San Antonio. She gave me my Grandmothers high school ring to wear for something old and borrowed, bought me a bracelet for my something new and bought blue hair things for my something blue. That was really sweet and unexpected. I also had a surprise of my own, AF decided to visit which was good for a few reasons, one: I am not pregnant after being a month late 2: I won't be visited while we are in Cancun WOOHOO! So, we left out around 11am. My sister and Ryan's friend followed us down to spend the day with us. It is a four hour drive, and it was Monsooning on the way down. We almost had to pull over a few times but we didn't and we got there! It was drizzling a bit but we still wanted to get married on Marriage Island. I called our officiant and told her it was still a "go" so she met us there. It was a short ceremony and Ryan surprised me with a poem reading, he had found this sweet poem on the internet. He also bought me a beautiful necklace to wear. It's a diamond necklace that is supposed to represent our growing love. The diamonds are small at the top and grow larger on the way down. After the ceremony we had reservations at Boudros on the Riverwalk, but it was still early so we went to Dirty Nellys Pub. The best bar I have ever been to! It was so much fun there was a Piano player that played requests. After a drink there we headed out to dinner. The food was amazing as always and Ryan and I shared a bottle of wine. We walked back to our hotel and went to the bar for a few more drinks. After, four more beers and a couple shots. I was wasted lol. Tam (my sister) and John (Ryan's friend) headed out to a club and Ryan and I went for a walk of the town. We went to the Alamo which was right outside of our hotel, and the Ghostbusters Fire Dept. and I got up in this huge fountain and posed for pictures I guess it seemed like a good idea to drunk Kathi. We headed back to our amazing hotel The Crockett Hotel and went to bed. The next day we went to Schlitterbahn. This huge waterpark. We called it our 'MiniMoon'. After about six hours we headed up to Austin. We went to the Capital building then to a nice restaurant on sixth street. We got home at about 1230 this morning. That is my story...now here are some pictures.....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
