Actually, working at a rest. really isn't a bad idea! I'm in college & had taken some spanish courses, and I worked at a mexican resteraunt for a couple of months (as the person doing the register so I could speak english w/ the customers & handling money) and the guys there taught me SO MUCH! Then..most of the guys were married to women who spoke english as a first language, and they were able to help me even more, b/c they spoke fluent english & fluent spanish..and they knew the "regular" way to speak spanish..not all prim & proper like class teaches you.

So maybe you could find someone to just tutor you..speaking regularly w/ someone who knows the language well will teach you A LOT! :)

I'm thinking a class is going to work better for me. I'm the kinda person that needs to be in front of the class to understand what's going on!!!
I've definitely had a passion for the language. I can remember the first time I had lessons - in DAYCARE! haha It was love at first sight love.gif lol

And yeah, about having a Spanish last name... when I get married I'm going to be "JAIME LOPEZ" OMG rofl.gif I refuse to go by that name living in a heavily populated spanish area. It's bad enough when Blockbuster, CVS, etc. call me and the recording goes "This message is for Hi-me Miller..." bwahahahahaha! Also, during prom season in HS I got all the tuxedo ads... sheesh! So now I've decided that I will start going by both my first and middle names "Jaime Lynne" when I take on the last name Lopez wink.gif I mean, can you imagine being at the DMV or something and them calling "Jaime Lopez" what their reactions would be when a blond, fair skinned girl with FRECKLES and green eyes walks up to the counter?? LMAO rofl.gif

I guess we all have to deal with those kinda things.
When I'm at work and we are flying to say El Paso or Harlingen I have passengers coming up to me & just start speaking spanish. AND they have attitude when I don't speak it back to them! I mean, hell I wish I knew how! No need to be upset!!

Thank you Samantha! We had them done the week before the trip we got engaged on so I opted not to do engagement photos as we had just done family photos.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
