Wedding review - RIU SANTA FE - July 8th, 2008

Recommended Posts

Everything looked absolutely beautiful. Love your colors, your dress, your flowers, the arch (i loved the little hint of pink fabric even though thats not what you wanted), the parasols....everything! Congrats!

Beautiful Pictures! It looks like you had a fabulous time. Im getting married there in January 2009- if you have any recommendations or advice from one bride to another- i would really appreciate it!

Did you try out the hair/makeup at Renova Salon? Is it worth trying out (for my mother and bridesmaids) or do you suggest just going with Neysa?- Ive been in contact with Neysa thanks to your review- and i have her booked for my hair and makeup only.

thanks so much.

Thanks! Yes it was an amazing wedding!

I would be more than happy to share advice on wedding stuff (now that the wedding is over it is great to share ideas... it brings back all sorts of memories)

I am not sure about the spa's salons services.... there are a few former santa fe brides on here.... do a search on renova spa... you should find something!

That is great news that you hired Neyssa.... you WONT regret it!!!!

Are you sure you don't want to hire her for the others? It was so much fun having us all get done by her! Then the don't have to walk all over the resort on the wedding day (the resort is HUGE, you will see what i mean)

Only 2 of my bridesmaids had hair done and 1 had make up, and myself of course, all By Neyssa.

Good luck! I Looking forward to helping out!

i brought it on the plane, and had it laying down in an overhead bin on the first flight, and they hung it in a close on the second. I wasnt TOO concerned cuz i was planning on have it pressed at the resort before the wedding, and i knew it wouldnt get dirty, cuz its in a bag!

Just wondering how much it was to rent the disco for 2 hours... We are doing the steak house then would like to move to the disco. Didn't know you could rent it. It would be great to have it for a couple of hours after dinner so we could do our first dance and have our own little party!
Also did you get a look at the gazebo? We are unsure which one to use, beach or gazebo. Can you see the ocean and beach from the gazebo?

Thanks!!!!
I posted pics of the Gazebo under the Question Riu Santa Fe thread. If you want to see.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
