I booked an outside photographer as well and Ana told me $95 for there day pass. I think my photographer is bringing an assistant with her, so all in all I'll end up paying almost $200. But yes, all us gals should def bring down any e-mails that discuss price.

      Hey girls,

      I have a dilemma:

My sister who previously told me (in so many words) that she wouldn't be able to make it to my wedding has just dropped a bomb on me today.  She told me that now she was thinking about coming with her 3 kids.  She asked if they would be allowed at the resort and of course i told her no because it is adults only.  So now she is considering going depending on her finances which i will not get a definite answer until the summer.  She says it all depends on if she gets hours to work in the summer because it is usually slow at the hospital where she works and they cut hours.  So now I feel bad (which i shouldn't because i explained my situation to her before i booked this resort. I told her that i wanted to make sure she was coming or not because if she was then i would have to find someplace else.  She told me that I should just pick the place i want to get married at because she wasn't sure if she could afford it.) Now she is making it seem like it is more of a possibility (still not definite) and I would feel bad if in the future she finds that she is able to afford it and then she wouldn't be able to go (because of course she doesn't want to leave her kids at home or go by herself) because it is an all - inclusive resort.

I've already talked to Ariadna: no exceptions for kids on the wedding day, no beach reception because it is turtle season in November and no off-site wedding locations.

So I am trying to see if I can find another resort/place that I can hold a wedding......or should i just tell my sister that I already have made my decision to have it at the Valentin and not worry about stressing myself trying to find another place.   I would hate to do that because I would love more than anything for her to be there.

      HELP!!

That's a really tough decision!  Obviously you want your sister to be involved because, well, she is your sister.  However, to be fair, she did tell you to book wherever you want because it is your wedding. I think that having to change locations is a lot of work and stress.  I'm sure you have already invested a lot of time and energy into this and changing locations will probably stress you out a lot.Yet, you need to weigh how important it is to have the kids there.

Another option that I can think of is that your sister stays at a different resort with the kids (family friendly) and then come to Valentin for the wedding, leaving the kids with the resort camp (I know Dreams has a really great one.)  I don't know how old the kids are, but I'm pretty sure they take all ages.  I've been to 2 different Dreams resorts (Punta Cana and Puerto Vallarta) and can safely say, the kids are taken care of very well.

A few of my cousins are doing that - staying somewhere else and just coming for the day.

I'm going with maracas. Not very original, but will be fun for a DW and a cute souvenier.

I need a little help deciding something. I really wanted to have a rehersal dinner but there is nooo waaay we are gonna pay $37 pp for an allready included dinner. So I was thinking of having my guests meet up at one of the bars the night before the wedding for welcome drink/ rehersal get-together. What bar location would be the best to do this at?

I felt the same way about paying for a private dinner but I guess I bothered Ana enough about it and she was able to arrange for reservations for us for our group of 15 at the Italian restaurant.  She told us that it would  be at two tables but we just moved them together with the help of the staff when we arrived.  It's worth asking what they can do again and we had to go early at 6:00 but it was really worth it and we gave out our welcome bags that night.  If you are looking to meet for drinks, the best bar would be in the plaza where our group met for a drink most nights before dinner.  Good luck!

How is the rehearsal dinner now $37pp?  In the wedding packing information I have it says $85 for the rehearsal dinner, which I assumed was just dinner reservations at the restaurant of our choice for the wedding party and parents.  Is this not the case anymore?  I didn't expect a provate room or anything for our dinner, just a table reserved for ~16 ppl
