I am starting to really stress out. My TA emailed the WC to confirm the date and time 3 days ago and she still has not responded. My hubby to be and I have already discussed other reception options, such as taking everyone into Playa for a reception off the resort. I am really irritated with how poorly these weddings are being handled.

On the other hand, I am really excited to be going to Mexico in one week.

I just hope when I get there, the WC is more knowledgeable than she is acting. It is really frustrating to see family and friends spend this much money on a vacation and the WC can't even get her act together. I hope all goes well. I am praying for the best case scenario.

Soon to be Powers- when do you get in to Mexico?

Hi Valentin brides!

I've been researching and researching and am trying to decide between Valentin Imperial and El Dorado Royale. does anyone have any feedback they could offer? i LOVE El dorado royale but the accommodations are alot higher than valentin (from the information i've received so far). we are planning to have the wedding in march/april 2010.

What is the nightly room rate (2 people) you guys have for the valentin?

I'm so stressed on picking the right resort!!!!

thanks for your feedback,

Jennie

Hi Jennie,

I'm getting married on December 12 at the Valentin. We looked at EDR and VIM. We chose VIM. My fiance and I paid $2200 total for seven nights including airfare, taxes, and transfers. If you take out the airfare and transfers, it works out to about $215/room/night including taxes.

Gotta love low season!

Hey Girls,

I leave tomorrow morning at 7:00am!!!

My mom and step-dad arrived at the Valentin on Saturday and said the place is amazing! They said it is currently very hot and humid. The food has been fabulous, the beach is amazing and the staff is wonderful! We can't wait!! I will post pics and a review when I return. We are gone for 10 days!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
