Hello Amyrak -

Congratulations on your marriage!! I loved the pictures you posted! They were beautiful. Did the on-site photog take all of the wedding pictures? How soon did you start planning your wedding from the time you booked? I know I still have some time. But if the terrace is as beautiful as everyone says, I would assume I should make that request now? Thoughts? I don't want to wait till we get there to plan everything. Do you have menus or flower selections. . .or anything else that will help in my planning?

Thanks for any and all help!

Kristie

I havent planned anything with Guadalupe yet...I plan to do a visit down there sometime this month or next which I told her that I will be doing. I would like to check out some of their decorations otherwise I will be bringing some down myself. From what I have heard you do all the flowers, wedding cake, menu, etc. the day you arrive at the hotel. Im going to try to do it earlier so that I can spend more time with my guests. So far I have just put the $800 deposit as well so think thats pretty standard.

Have you decided on a photographer? We are going with Delsol Photography, they are amazing and come highly recommended. Pictures are very important to me as well hence the reason we decided on Delsol.

First, sorry for the duplicate postings I think my computer was spazzing!!

Here is the information that I have been sent my Lupita. They are from 2008, when I get the new ones I will post them. *Side note I know that the menu is from the Valentin since it has their logo. I am pretty sure the photo information is from the Valentin but I am not positive (I have gotten a lot of stuff from a lot of resorts!)

I hope this helps

  • 4 weeks later...

everyone's posts are very helpful. I am getting married at the Valetin on June 6th. I have put down my deposit, and we have booked our room and air. It is great to see others are getting married there as well, not a ton out there about the resort. If anyone knows about the flower and cake selections, I would love to hear about it. I want to know if there is a wide variety, or just a few pics to choose from? Thanks!

So glad to hear the stories and questions I have been having about the Resort are the same as I have had. I also had to put down $800 to secure the date. I am getting married, on the beach Saturday June 6,2009. I would really like to see pictures of the cakes or flower selections if anyone has them.

Thanks!

Hi, I am Hailey and I am getting married at the Valentin on June 9th, 2009. I am so excited to find this website...it is a great place to meet everyone else who is going thru the same wedding planning.

Is anyone doing gift bags for your guests...I am looking for ideas.

Great meeting you all and thank all the previous writers for all of their useful information.

Hailey,

I am doing gift bags. So far I have purchased bags from old navy and the following items to fill them.

First aid kits (Dollar Tree)-taking out some band-aids adding more medicine

flashlights (mom insisting, $1 walmart)

Spanish for Dummies book (target $1)

Bug wipes (some reviews have mentioned bugs)-Clearance at Target

Hand sanitizer

Sunscreen (only going in single guys bags-Dollar Tree)

Soduko/Word search books ($1 each)

We are going to add some snacks and things as well. We are planning to make a trip to Costco before our guest arrive. I think we are going to add beach balls too (as filler). I am still debating on Koozies. I don't really think they will be that useful because most drinks are served in glasses. A lot of people put big glasses in the bags because glassware at the bar is small.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
