Are you going to use an outside photographer? Is so who? I am really trying to decide on that. Good pictures are really important to me.

Thanks,

Ashley

I did a site visit back in July and fell in love with this place!

They do allow outside vendors including an outside photographer, you just need to pay as if they were a guest - $100 which is very reasonable since some other resorts I know charge $400.

For any future Valentin Brides out there who would like to use the chapel for a Catholic wedding I have very good news! My WC Guadalupe sent me an email a few weeks ago and I would like to share it with you all!

"I am very pleased to inform you that Father Bernard who officiates the weddings her with us has given us the OK to have masses here in the year 2009. Our little chapel is now more than ready for your coming event. I hope we can continue your plan to get married here"

So if you are planning for a religious ceremony for your wedding I highly recommend this place! I searched all the resorts in the Mayan Riviera which had on-site chapels and this by far is the most beautiful one in my opinion!

Good luck ladies and to Amyrak: I know your wedding is coming up very quickly....I would like to wish you a beautiful most memorable wedding!!!

I was going through the same dilemma. I feel the same way. Pics are extremely importatnt therefore, I will be using an outside photographer. I have booked Claudia Rodriguez. She is highly recommended. Let me know if you want her contact information. She has been used by other brides on this forum. Good luck on what you decide.

Has anyone seen reviews or pics from the Valentine on the site? I haven't but I think there are already been a couple brides from the site married there?

I just had some family friends get back and they said the food was fabulous! When they were there (in November), the area was coming off 30 days of rain and they said the mosquitoes were pretty bad. Hopefully with a summer date I won't have to worry about that.

They are not really picture people but are supposed to be sending me a couple. If and when I get them I will post!

Only 6 months till the big day!! I have so much to do!!!

Hello,

I was married at the Valentin on November 27th..everything was great, the resort was great. The cake we picked out everyone raved about being the best dessert we had. If you want to look at my pics go to our website at Greg & Amy's Wedding Site and click on the pics from Mexico link. We just used the onsite photographer Marco and he was excellent!! Was very pleased with the pics. Any questions I will try to answer but it's really busy right now getting back and all the holiday going ons!

Hello!

I had to write on here to tell all the brides that are going to get married how amazing this place is as well as Congratulations!!

I was on vacation at the Valentin Imperial from Nov 7th to Nov 14th. The resort is breath taking...the rooms are stunning (we had the Jr Deluxe Suite), the food is excellent, pool is refreshing and very clean, the beach is kept clean and great service from the staff there as well.

I got engaged on Nov 9th to my fiance the third day in which made this place even more special. From that moment on I kept thinking how beautiful a wedding would be to have at the Valentin. The ground are beautiful!! We can not have our wedding at the Valentin as we have some cousins children ages 9,10 and 12 that are coming with us so we are looking at other resorts right now as we are going to get married Nov 2009 in the Mayan Riviera.

No matter where we were walking on the resort it seemed like at times we were the only ones there. This resort is not over crowded at all. You have no problems finding a spot on the beach or around the pool. They have such nice music playing and you can hear it throughout as you walk on the paths, it was very soothing!

You never had long line ups for the alacartes at all. It was so nice to have the option to go for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The buffet that they have for breakfast and lunch as well was great! The buffet area where you get your food is all air conditioned and opens with sliding glass doors. They have an area to sit inside with air conditioning or outside. We sat outside as there was always a nice breeze.

At this resort you feel like Royalty. All the workers say "Hola" and smile at you when walking by.

We have been to a lot of all inclusives and my fiance and I agreed that we were sad to leave this place and go home. Usually you are ready to leave after a week but not at this resort. We could have easily stayed two weeks no problem. The only thing that kept us from doing this was work and had to relieve the in laws from looking after our 5 month old yellow lab (who is a handful but cute).

All the best and enjoy this resort when you go!! It is going to be amazing!!!!

P.S: If you are planning on a church wedding the church is beatiful. You go over a little bridge walkway into the church which is surrounded by water. The water at this resort is always crystal clear. They drain it and re fil it so you never see that green colour to it at all.

I just returned from a 7 day stay at the Valetin, and thought I would let everyone know what I thought!

First let me start by saying the resort is GORGEOUS!!!!! you will not be disapointed! The service was the best (by most) Rooms are beautiful, and very clean. The resort itself is well maintained, and breath taking (perfect for wedding photos) The only thing the resort was missing, was none of the water features were workinghuh.gif? Not sure why?

Ok now the bad! I figured that while I was there I would make an appointment with the wedding coordinator. I was hoping for a little tour see Cereemony sites, and honeymoon suite, And I also thought I could get a few questions answered. Lupita(guadaluppe sp?)(same person) blew me off, not once but twice.

The first time I talked to her on the phone, and I explained that I was considering having my wedding there, and that I would like to meet with her to ask her a few qustions etc... She quickly replied "the wedding package info is on our website" After a moment of silence I replied " I have some questions that arent provided on the website" again silence.... the she says " well I am far too busy right now, you need to make an appointment" ok understandable, so she suggests a day, and time, and I leave it at that!

I showed up for my appointment, the concierge calls her, and tells her i was waiting for her, and she makes him ask if I had an appointmenthuh.gif? ummmmm ya you choose the day, and time! So finally she comes out of her office, and honestly she was very nice, but you could tell she didnt want to waste her time with me. I asked her a couple of questions (private receptions, location of ceremony, decorations etc...) but after only getting quick 1 word answers I gave up! She just kept repeating the same thing over, and over again. "Information is on our website, and yes but it costs extra"

I left very frustrated, and quite upset, I threw her card in the garbage immediatley.

My fiance went down the next morning (while I was still asleep)to speak to a manager, and he was very appologetic, and brought down the 'other' coordinator (cant remember her name) He said that she was way more accomidating, and offered to show us around. But Lupita had made me feel so horrible about wasting her time, I had decided on not getting married at the Valentin anymore.

Im not sure if my expectations were unrealistic? Maybe this is how all wedding coordinators are at every Mexican resort, but I was NOT IMPRESSED!

Good luck to you all, if you have any questions, or if you want some pictures of the resort.... let me know! I am more that willing to help.

Unlike what Lupita would say.... "Information is on the website"

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
